Descriptions
Active Older Adults— This program can help maintain an independent lifestyle by improving cardiovascular and
strength training. Skill level 1.
Adult Bible Study-Adult Bible Study will bring you together to share the word of the bible and build new friendships through the word of the Lord.
Beginning Step-A great workout designed to utilize the entire body. Variations of Step Aerobics utilizing body
bars, hand weights and Plyoballs to maximize your workout. Skill level: 1.
Bootcamp—Bootcamp is designed to challenge you physically and mentally. This class is based on military-type
exercises , circuit training and core training. Skill level 2.
Butts & Guts— In this class you will tone your legs, butt and stomach. Get ready to sweat and use your own body
weight while incorporating weights, tubes and more for a great workout. All levels.
Cardio Blast– Cardio Blast is for all fitness level participants. Participants will get a great cardiovascular workout
using a variety of exercises using physio-balls, dumbbells, medicine balls and body weight exercise to help you
reach your fitness goals. Skill Level 2.
Cardio Boxing-Participants will learn proper stance and technique for throwing punches while increasing their
heart rate in this exhilarating class. Participants will be partnering with others in class, utilizing mitts and throwing
punches on a heavy bag. Challenge yourself today! Hand wraps and/or boxing gloves are required for this class.
Women should use 12 oz. gloves and Men should use 14 oz. gloves. Gloves and wraps can be purchased at any
sporting goods store. Skill Level 2.
CY-YO– Experience the ideal combination, 30 minutes of Group Cycle followed by 30 minutes of Yoga! Cycling will
build cardiovascular endurance while Yoga will focus on opening the shoulders, hips and hamstrings in addition to
building core strength. Skill level 1-3.
Spinning & Core– Using a studio cycle with a weighted flywheel and a combination of core exercises this heart
pounding workout will challenge you and push you to new levels of fitness. Skill level 2.
Spinning: Intervals-Using a studio cycle with a weighted flywheel, this class will take you to the next level of
fitness and overall health. Class consists of intervals to abruptly increase and decrease your heart rate for optimal
health and fitness. Skill level 3.
Spinning: Intervals/Strength- Using a studio cycle with a weighted flywheel, this class will build up the
strength in the legs to keep you pushing through tough rides and combine intervals to give you optimal aerobic
and anaerobic capacities for prolonged stamina. Skill level 3.

Deep Stretch– In this class, you will use the practice of holding a deep stretch for 60 seconds to 90 seconds to help
achieve a deeper stretch and gain flexibility. Improve your daily living by gaining balance and flexibility along with
many other healthy benefits of routine stretching. Skill level 1.
Fit and Fabulous Over Forty– This combo aerobic/strength training class offers exercises for your total body and
will increase your flexibility. Whether you’re new to exercise or you’ve been away for a while, this class provides a
safe, friendly atmosphere where you can achieve your goals. Recommended for those who are 40+ years of age.
Beginners welcome. Skill level 1.
Enhance Fitness- Improve your strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health with this program designed
for seniors. This evidence-based program is endorsed by the Michigan Department of Community Health Arthritis
Program and the CDC.Health Seeker Class is appropriate for individuals beginning a fitness program.
Fitness Walking– Looking to take that first step? In this class you will take to the sport of brisk, rhythmic, vigorous
walking, intended to improve cardiovascular efficiency, strengthen the heart, control weight gain, and reduce stress.
Outdoor routes from the Y will vary. Please dress appropriately for the outdoor weather. Skill level 1.
Iron Brotherhood-The Iron Brotherhood Program is a men?s only group, designed and developed by to improve
overall well-being and quality of life for men who have served in a field that has caused emotional trauma. All
who have served qualify regardless of time served. The program consists of fitness classes taught by certified instructors. Participants will receive peer support and the opportunity to build relationships with others working
through similar situations. Each class session will consist of a 45-minute workout led by a certified instructor, followed by 30 minutes of optional discussion.
INSANITY®- is a cardio class, based on max interval training. This class will push you past your limits with athletic/plyometric drills mixed with intervals of strength, power, resistance, and core training. No equipment or weights
needed. You don't have to be in extreme shape? levels of each exercise are provided. Time to dig deep!
Kettlebell– This 30 minute kettlebell class will teach you the proper form and technique to give you a full body
workout. Gain muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular benefits with every workout. Skill level
1.
Kids Zumba-Zumba Kids class is designed exclusively for kids (ages 7-11) to combine movement,music and community in a class for children. Classes are one hour rockin',high-energy dance parties packed with kid-friendly routines and all the music that kids love. This class will inspire kids to express themselves through movement and play
while effectively improving their overall health and well-being.
Kim’s Cardio Camp– A great workout designed to utilize the entire body. Kim coaches you through exercises utilizing body bars, body weight, hand weights and steps to maximize your workout. All levels of fitness are welcome to
join in. Skill level 1.
New To Running-This class is for those who are looking to get into running or starting back up. Learn to set a pace
for yourself to help you achieve your running goals or get back to improving your 5K time and build new relationships with people who have a common goal. Class begins with a warm-up followed by a group run to help you find
your groove. This class will vary on miles ran. Skill level 1-2.
Pilates– Using proper movement and breath, this class will focus on deep muscle strengthening and can help improve posture, coordination and mind-body awareness. All skill levels are welcome. A great compliment to any
workout. Skill level 2.
Pound– Pound is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The
workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series. Burn
between 400 and 900+ calories per hour, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a
leaner, slimmer physique all while rocking out to your favorite music! Skill level: All levels.
Runner’s Conditioning-Take your running to the next level by adding speed work and hill work to your weekly
running routine. This class will challenge both intermediate and advanced runners by incorporating speed interval
training and hill repeats customized to your running ability. Note this class runs outside rain or shine and Tot Watch
is available. Skill Level 2-3.
Small Group Training– Are you interested in personal training, but don’t need the individual attention? Are you
looking for an intense workout without the hassle of coming up with the right program to fit your needs? Small
Group Training will boost you workout intensity and keep you accountable while remaining under the watchful eye of
a certified personal trainer! Cardiovascular exercise, along with strength training will be performed every session.

Spinning: Strength/Endurance- Using a studio cycle with a weighted flywheel, gain the body strength you need
to conquer any type of ride while increasing your cardiovascular endurance to keep up the pace. Skill level 2.
Stretching for Runners and Athletes-This class will focus on specific stretches to help loosen up problematic areas such as your Hamstrings, Glutes and IT Bands while at the same time maximizing your flexibility. Skill Level 1.
Tabata- Tabata is a high intensity form of interval training that involves completing 6-10 exercises at maximum intensity for 4 minutes each (20 seconds completing the exercise at a high intensity, with 10 seconds of rest completed for a total of 4 minutes per exercise). If you are looking for a challenging cardio and strength workout, this one's
for you! Skill Level 3.
Tai Chi-Tai Chi is based on the ancient martial arts and involves non-contact movement. It is a smooth, gentle form
of exercise that addresses the musculoskeletal system, as well as respiratory, cardiac and organ systems. Posture
and alignment are key elements. Tai Chi also addresses balance, flexibility, strength, calmness and peace. The class
includes warm up exercises, Qigong (the cultivation of our internal energy) and introduction to Tai Chi form(s). In
this Beginner class we will address basic principles and have lots of time for pleasant repetition. Participants may
stand, sit or hold on for support as needed. No experience necessary. All ages welcome. All ages welcome.
Turning Point-Come and join this supportive class with personal training to help decrease stress in a format designed specifically for breast cancer patients and survivors. Individual and group support will be provided through a
series of fitness, yoga, and tai chi programs designed to increase physical functioning, provide for better general
health, lower levels of fatigue, increase flexibility, improve social functioning and balance the body. Each participant
will be evaluated on a one-on-one basis, creating an individualized program; that will be closely monitored in a group
setting by certified staff. Skill Level 1.
TRX Fusion Strength- Add TRX suspension training to your routine to build core strength with every exercise by
creating an element of instability that forces your core to provide balance and coordination. Circuit, Interval or
Tabata formats may include medicine balls, free weights, exercise balls, and bodyweight exercises in addition to the
TRX. Workouts will vary from week to week. Skill Level 2-3.
Women on Weights- Learn new techniques, workouts and functional fitness with this class. Class is designed specifically for women. Your instructor will teach the fundamentals of resistance training and teach you plenty of new
exercises as you go. Get ready to sweat! Skill Level 2.
Workouts With Ryan-Health and Wellness Director, Ryan Haughey, will coach you through a cross training class
using weights, body weight and cardio exercises on the fitness floor. This class will show you new and improved
ways to use your surroundings to gain a total body workout. You are never too old to play on a playground! Skill
Level 2-3.
Yoga-Learn the proper breathing techniques and poses through the practice of Hatha yoga. Stretches your body,
quiets your mind and refreshes your spirit. Yoga will improve your flexibility, de-stress your mind and balance your
body. Skill Level 1.
Yoga/Yoga for Beginners- Learn the proper breathing techniques and poses through the practice of Hatha yoga.
Stretches your body, quiets your mind and refreshes your spirit. Yoga will improve your flexibility, de-stress your
mind and balance your body. Yoga for beginners is most ideal for the beginning yoga student. Skill Level 1.
Yoga for Strength and Stretch- Traditional yoga class targeting abs and lower back strengthening. Each pose will
focus on improving your overall core strength. Skill Level 1-2.
Zumba-This class combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations. Zumba is a
fusion of Latin and International music with dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness system! FUN and EASY TO DO! Experience an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric burning, heart racing,
muscle pumping, and energizing movements meant to engage the entire body! Skill Level 2.
Zumb Gold-Get groovin at your own pace with Zumba Gold!This easy-to-follow program that lets you move to the
beat at your own speed. It's an invigorating, community-oriented dance-fitness class that feels fresh, and most of all,
exhilarating! Zumba Gold classes provide modified, low-impact moves for active older adults.

