Faces in the Crowd
Dick Eicher was honored at the Denver
Alumni Event on June 22. This remarkable
U.S. Bank Alumni changed the history of the
sports world in Denver.
Lynda Chea spent her entire successful
42-year career at the North Denver
Branch. She started as an assistant
bookkeeper and held various leadership
roles including chief teller, personal
banker and financial specialist. Lynda
became the banker to second and third
generation families.
Dick started his career at Central Bank in
1952 in the Executive Management Program.
He also was a top basketball player on a
team sponsored by Central Bank, known as
the Central Bankers in the Amateur Athletic
Union. Dick played in the league for 12 years,
which included eight National AAU
tournaments. He was selected twice to All
League honors.
If you ask several of her former
colleagues, they will tell you she was a
hard worker, but more importantly, a
wonderful mentor who always took the
extra time to provide advice and
guidance which helped others’ advance
their careers. Because of Lynda’s
extensive knowledge, you could always
call on her for assistance with customer
transactions.
As a prominent figure in the Denver sports
scene, Dick was instrumental in the creation
of the then ABA team, the Denver Rockets,
which eventually became what we know
today as the Denver Nuggets. Dick served on
the Denver Metro Sports Committee that
successfully brought the 1990 NCAA Final
Four to McNichols Arena.
Lynda hasn’t slowed down since
retiring. She is very proud of her
daughter and three grandchildren. She
is really looking forward to two of her
grandchildrens’ upcoming weddings in
the next few months. Lynda loves to
travel, especially to Hawaii and she
enjoys working in her yard and going to
the movies. She still goes to lunch or
dinner with her former co-workers, some
of which she has been friends with for
over 40 years.
Dick’s banking career included seven years
as vice president of marketing at Colorado
National Bank. He also spent 20 years in
executive management at Coors before
retiring.
Dick and his wife, Jerrie, have celebrated 55
years of marriage. They are very proud of
their three children and eight grandchildren.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf,
hunting or horseback riding. Dick is a
member of the Roundup Riders of the
Rockies, riding over 10,000 miles on his
beloved horse he had for over 20 years.
Lynda, thank you for your years of
dedication and service to U.S. Bank.
Thank you, Dick Eicher, U.S. Bank Alumni
member, and thanks for making a difference
in our Denver sports world.

Employees getting green with US
U.S. Bank has about 30
green teams that initiate
local projects and activities for employees.
Some projects focus on ways to conserve
resources within the business line, while
others focus more on helping out in the
community or educating employees on how
to live a greener lifestyle. These teams
have been excellent partners for
Environmental Affairs in carrying out U.S.
Bank's green initiative. Examples of green
projects include:
• Cleaning up trash through the
Adopt-a-Highway program and other
community beautification efforts.
• Collecting items for tornado victims
and local schools.
• Establishing recycling efforts at U.S.
Bank buildings where recycling is
not available.
• Hosting green educational events.
For more information on U.S. Bank’s green
teams, or for a list of team locations, email
Environmental Affairs at
