Add or subtract mixed numbers
It’s not hard to do.
Turn them into improper fractions,
That’s step one for you.
Step two comes next so move along
Go down to the bottom.
Multiply the bottom numbers,
Common denominators you’ve got ‘em.
Cross multiply from bottom to top
That would be step three,
This changes the numerators and you are
Right where you should be.
Take your new fractions and add or subtract
But only across the top.
The denominator stays the same
If they don’t then this will flop.
