In addition, since this product is intended for use in general industrial machine part, for use in outdoors (outdoor type excluded), or for use in the following environments and conditions are excluded. (Note that this product can be used when CKD is consulted prior to use and the customer consents to CKD product specifications. The customer must provide safety measures to avoid risks in the event of problems.) ❶ Use for special applications requiring safety including nuclear energy, railroad, aviation, ship, vehicle, medical equipment, equipment or applications coming into contact with beverage or food, amusement equipment, emergency shutoff circuits, press machine, brake circuits, or for safeguard. ❷ Use for applications where life or assets could be adversely affected, and special safety measures are required. 3 Observe corporate standards and regulations, etc., related to the safety of device design and control, etc. ISO4414, JIS B 8370 (Pneumatic system rules) JFPS 2008 (Principles for pneumatic cylinder selection and use) Including High Pressure Gas Maintenance Law, Occupational Safety and Sanitation Laws, other safety rules, body standards and regulations, etc. 4 Do not handle, pipe, or remove devices before confirming safety. ❶Inspect and service the machine and devices after securing the safety of all the systems related to this product. ❷ Exercise caution as high temperature and charged parts can be present even when operation is stopped. ❸ When inspecting or servicing the device, turn off the energy source (air supply or water supply), and turn off power to the facility. Discharge any compressed air from the system, and pay attention to possible water leakage and leakage of electricity. ❹When starting or restarting a machine or device that incorporates pneumatic components, make sure that the system safety, such as pop-out prevention measures, is secured. 5 Observe warnings and cautions on the pages below to prevent accidents. The safety cautions are ranked as "DANGER", "WARNING" and "CAUTION" in this section. Danger: (DANGER) Warning: (WARNING) Caution: (CAUTION) When a dangerous situation may occur if handling is mistaken leading to fatal or serious injuries, or when there is a high degree of emergency to a warning. When a dangerous situation may occur if handling is mistaken leading to fatal or serious injuries. When a dangerous situation may occur if handling is mistaken leading to minor injuries or physical damage. Note that some items described as "CAUTION" may lead to serious results depending on the situation. In any case, important information that must be observed is explained. Note that the following faults are excluded from the warranty: ① Product abuse/misuse contrary to conditions/environment recommended in its catalogs/specifications. ② Failure caused by other than the delivered product. ③ Use other than original design purposes. ④ Third-party repair/modification. ⑤ Failure caused by reason that is unforeseeable with technology put into practical use at the time of delivery. ⑥ Failure attributable to force majeure. In addition, the guarantee stated here is related to the purchased product itself, and any damage which may be caused by failure of delivered goods will also be excluded. 3 Compatibility confirmation The customer is responsible for confirming the compatibility of CKD products with the customer's systems, machines and equipment. 7 Pneumatic components Safety precautions Be sure to read the instructions before use. Refer to Pneumatic Cylinders No. CB-029S for general details on cylinders and cylinder switch. Individual precautions: Linear slide hand LSH Series Design & Selection Working environment 1. Common Warning If the moving workpiece poses a possible risk to personnel or if fingers could be caught in the master key, etc., install a protective cover, etc. If circuit pressure drops due to a service interruption or problems in the air source, gripping force drops and the workpiece could drop. Provide position locking measures, etc., so that personnel and machines are not injured or damaged. In cutting, casting or welding, foreign matter such as cutting fluid, chips, etc. can get in. Please use cover, etc. to prevent these as much as possible. In addition, please do not use in the following environments. Takes cutting fluid (because the sliding portion is scraped by abrasive debris or polishing agent in the liquid) In the case of air-borne organic solvents, chemicals, acids, alkaline matter, kerosene and the like it takes water When gripping a long or large workpiece, the center of gravity must be gripped to provide stable prehension. It is also necessary to stabilize prehension by increasing the size or using multiple jaws. CAUTION Precautions for gripping force × Gripping force represents the force when you grip the workpiece, as shown in the figure below. For the length of the small jaw, please keep within gripping force numerical values in the table for each model. The jaw's working max. length can be used within performance data. When transferring the workpiece (weight WL) , please refer below. WL×9.8×5 < (F×N) [Hold only] WL×9.8×10< (F×N) [Usual transfer] WL×9.8×20< (F×N) [Accelerated transfer] WL △ ○ WL WL ◎ WL Select a model that has sufficient power to grip the workpiece weight. Select a model that has sufficient opening/closing width for the workpiece size. WL: workpiece weight [kg] F : Gripping force [N] N: The number of jaws [pcs.] Use small jaws as lightweight and short as possible. If the small jaw is long and heavy, inertia increases when opening and closing. This may cause play in the master key, and adversely affect life. If directly installing the workpiece into the jig with hand, consider clearance during design. Hand could be broken. Gripping force Please keep the length of small jaw within the values of performance data. The weight of the small jaw affects life, so check that the weight is less than the following value. W < 1/4H (1 per single piece) W: Weight of small jaw H: Weight of hand Max. length of jaw Length of jaw (ℓ) If L-shape fixture installed, please use within the range indicated on page 6. 8 LSH Series Hand Pressing of jig with wings protruding Hand If small jaw lack rigidity, the master key is twisted by deflection, potentially adversely affecting the operation. Please adjust the chuck opening and closing speed at speed controller (sold separately). When used at high speeds, gutters may occur faster. Using a push-cylinder Hand Press-in cylinder Hand Miniature slide Stopper Note)Because the workpiece is slid on the the small jaw, there is a risk of significantly lowering the life of the chuck. Sufficient consideration should be made for the shape of the small jaw. Installation & Adjustment 1. Common CAUTION Please ensure load is not applied to jaw during desorption and transport of workpiece. Scratches and dents can be made on the linear guide rolling surface of the master key, sometimes causing malfunction. The cylinder may malfunction if a magnetic substance, such as a steel plate, is nearby. Move the magnetic substance to at least 10 mm from the cylinder. 10mm or over Hand The cylinder switch could malfunction if cylinders are installed adjacently. Check that the following distances are provided between cylinders. 10mm or over 10mm or over 10mm or over 10mm or over Workpiece If the clamp is operated carefully and slowly, accuracy increases. In addition, repeatability is ensured. Applying load NG For Applying load NG 9 the master key sliding portion, replenish grease regularly. Regular replenishment extends the life span significantly. LSH Series Individual precautions Installing the jaw ● Front installation When installing jaws onto the master key, take the effect onto the hand into consideration. Support the master key with a wrench, etc., so it does not twist, and tighten the jaw.
