Types of Accommodation
IESEG provides different housing options: student and private residence, as well as private housing
(private landlords). Students can select their housing preferences out of those options and can apply for
housing right after being contacted by IESEG with housing offers (by email). Housing assignments are
done on a first-come, first-served basis. Housing fills up quickly; therefore, it is in the student’s best
interest to book housing as soon as possible.
Leasing contracts are for a one semester period minimum. Students are required to obtain insurance to
cover personal and civil liability (can be done once in France).
The IESEG incoming student coordinators will support students in the housing process and can be
contacted with any questions about housing or for help:

Fun Facts about Lille

Lille and its region are known for having mussels and fries ( = "moules-frites") as their
traditional staple food. One restaurant in Lille launched a funny tradition many years ago:
they threw the empty mussel shells from peoples’ plates out in the street so it piles up. It
has become a competition between restaurants as to who has the largest/tallest pile of
mussel shells outside their restaurant.

La Grande Braderie de Lille is a yearly event which takes place the first weekend of
September; it is the largest "flea market" in Europe and attracts 2 million people in two
days every year.
