latitude- the angular distance north or south of the earth's equator, measured in degrees, along a meridian. Latitude can
be measured from 0 degrees to 90 degrees.
longitude- angular distance on the earth's surface, measured east or west from the prime meridian (located in Greenwich,
England) to the meridian passing through a position expressed in degrees.Longitude can be measured from -180 degrees
to 180 degrees.

The latitude longitude system is in it's most rudimentary form a simple grid system. It allows for easy quick location with
a set of coordinates. Latitude lines run horizontal. They go from 90 degrees north latitude to 90 degrees south. With the
equator being 0 degree mark. Longitude lines run 180 degrees east to 180 degrees west, and their 0 point is the prime
meridian. The convergence point of 180 e-w is the International date line.

Ecliptic latitude is measured from 0° to 90° north (+) or south (−) of the ecliptic. Ecliptic longitude is measured from 0°
to 360° eastward (the direction that the Sun appears to move relative to the stars), along the ecliptic from the vernal
equinox.
Just read this thought it may help in the discussion.

I have read over your post and found a slight ere. I thought maybe you would like to know that the measurement for
Longitude is not 0-360 but 0 to 180. It is based on going half way around the world in one direction and half way in the
other direction. Just so you know. Sorry I had to tell You hope you aren't offended in any way.

Latitude is a North South measurement of position on the earth. It is defined by the Angle measured from a horizontal
plane located at the earth’s center that is perpendicular to the polar axis. A line connecting all places of the same latitude
is termed parallel. Measurements of latitude range from equator 0°to 90° North and South from this point.
Longitude is a west- east measurement of position on the earth. It is defined by the angle measured from vertical plane
running through the polar axis and the prime meridian. Measurements of longitude range from prime meridian 0° to 180°
West and East from this point.
Both Latitude and Longitude are measured in degrees, minutes and seconds. (This information was directly taken from the
terms in the Fundamentals of Physical Geography)
My home campus is the Danville campus which is located at : 59 corporate Drive Danville KY 40422
Its exact latitude and Longitude in exact units are: 37°37’28.81”N Lat and 84°49’09.93”W Long

Latitude is 0-90 degrees north and south based from the equator, and Longitude is based from the Prime Meridian which
goes from 0-180 degrees east and west, and if you cross the international date line going east, you lose a day, opposite
for traveling west.

Latitude - measures the north and south position of locations on the Earth's surface relative
to a point found at the center of the Earth. It measures 0 to 90 degrees north and south.
Longitude - measures the west and east locations on the Earth's surface relative to a
circular arc called the Prime Meridian. Also measures from 0 to 360 degrees.
