the equipment) will be funded and installed at a later date. The cost of the matting is in the

donated items at the PTA Summer Fayre, and a group of children (with adults) packing bags
for Tesco customers.
4) LPPA update
The LPPA group meeting has not yet taken place. Lucy was able to report that the class
activities chart that currently resides on the Parent Council section of the school website,

Action: LPPA Working Group to meet with Sue Frankish.
Action update: Stella and Sue Frankish have had an initial meeting.
5) School surgery
A ‘surgery’ for parental/carer concerns, views and opinions is planned to take place in the
Sports Park Pavilion before the end of the summer term. It was suggested that this might
coincide with the Party in the Park that the Parish Council are organising for Sunday 12th
July 2015.
Action: Sarah H and/or another to produce an article for the Newsletter to inform
parents/carers of the event and communication opportunity.
6) Pavement Markings
Lucy has spoken to the Council and reported that it is unlikely that the Council will agree to
add pavement markings outside the school gates. The school is deemed to already have
adequate marking schemes in place.
On the road safety awareness topic, there are a number of initiatives being rolled out across
all age groups within the school, before the end of the summer term and beyond. Emmi will
be delivering class-appropriate Road Safety Workshops to all year groups within the next
few weeks, Year 1 are undertaking Scootability Training on 18th June 2015, Years 2 and 3 are
receiving 3 Walk Smart Training sessions this term, Be Safe, Be Seen will be delivered to
the whole school in November 2105 and Sarah P is meeting with Sustrans to discuss further
initiatives.
7) Coffee Morning feedback
Sarah P stated that the main topic of concern raised at the last Coffee Morning was that of
Year 1 class-size. This situation has now been addressed (with thanks to Lucy and Adam
Boddison, for the Governors).
The new building work that is planned for the end of June, will provide space for a new notice
board. It is planned to use this board for internal news and post community news on the
board that is currently outside the small school entrance gate.

A post box is to be purchased and positioned in the playground, thus providing another
communication route for parent/carer views, concerns and opinions. This location will enable
easy access at drop-off and collection times.
Sarah H and/or another: produce a newsletter article to raise awareness.
Action Update: Post box has been purchased and is to be mounted, outside, on the Year 2
classroom wall, directly opposite the pedestrian entrance gate.
The group discussed the visibility of PC members on the playground and decided that
awareness of contacts should be raised. Lucy suggested ID badges on yellow lanyards.
Action: All members who have not yet done so, to get their photo taken in the main office
for website and ID badges.
8) Any Other Business
Sarah P confirmed that 2 members were able to represent the Parent Council at the
Foundation Stage Induction Evening on 29th June 2015. Parent Council reps are requested to
be present to talk to new FS parents on 17th or 18th September 2015.
Action: Volunteers for September please!
