First consider this passage, which is the allusion that the title is based upon – God’s fourth
avenging angel of the Apocalypse (unveiling):

The Book of Revelation, chapter 6, verse 8: "And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his
name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him."

Also, focus on the ambiguity of the “Preacher” (real or ghost, evil or good, kind or violent, etc.)

