Sternberg’s 3-Component Triangle Theory of Love Assessment
Instructions
Each of the 45 statements reflects one of the 3 components of love
represented by the letters: I, P, C. Focus on one particular “love”
relationship, and keep that one individual's name in mind as you circle the
rating number indicating how much you agree or disagree with each of these
45 statements. The blank space in each statement represents the name of the
person you have in mind. After you have completed rating all 45 statements,
add up the point totals for each of the three love components: I, P, C.
Rate each statement on a scale from 1-to-9, where:
1 = Not at all
5 = Moderately
9 = Extremely
Use intermediate points on the scale to indicate intermediate strengths of rating.
