Instructions for Handelsbanken’s card reader You have received a card reader so you can log on and carry out your banking transactions in Online Banking. The log-on card will be sent to you separately by mail when you have selected a six-digit PIN. You use the log-on card together with this PIN. LOGIN This is used when you log on to Online Banking with a card reader not connected with a cable. BUY This is used when you make card purchases online without a cable. C Deletes what you have entered. SIGN This is used when you sign banking transactions with a card reader not connected with a cable. OK Starts the card reader or confirms what you have entered. CABLE SOCKET You can use the card reader both with and without a cable. You connect the cable to the card reader and the computer. 1 (5) Logging on with or without a cable – what’s the difference? Log-on with cable Logging on with a card reader linked with a cable is the best solution if you use the same computer or make many transactions. With the cable connected, fewer clicks are required than if you log on with a card reader without a cable. Press LOGIN and follow the instructions on the computer Signing banking transactions 1. Click on Execute on the page for the transaction 2. Insert the log-on card into the card reader 3. Select function will be shown on the card reader 4. Press SIGN and follow the instructions on the computer Online card purchases Sometimes you need to confirm an online card purchase using your card reader. You change the battery yourself by opening the small cover on the reverse of the card reader with a crosspoint screwdriver. The card reader requires two CR2032 3-volt batteries. What should I do if I lose my card reader? The card reader contains no personal information and passwords, so losing it is not a security risk. If you need a new card reader, contact your branch or customer support. What happens if I lose my log-on card? Your log-on card contains your electronic identity.
