MMR has Experience in Recycling Wood-waste
Biomass into Electricity
Mid-Michigan Recycling (MMR) has been
working in partnership with the Genesee
Power Station (GPS) in Flint, Michigan
since 1994, producing steam and electricity
from wood waste. MMR recycles most
types of non-treated wood waste, including
chips, brush, logs, stumps, Christmas trees,
diseased and junk trees and more.

Using wood-waste and other biomass
materials benefits the environment by
producing electricity from a carbon-neutral
waste product that originates from a
renewable resource, while eliminating the
need to field burn, dump or landfill this
material. The Genesee Power Station in
Flint is one of Michigan's premier biomass
power plants producing steam and
electricity for the residents of SE Michigan

Recycling your wood-waste through MMR may
be more economical than landfill fees while
providing an environmental benefit. Bring your
eligible wood waste to one of MMR's wood
receiving yards located across southeastern
Michigan or call (810) 785-4512 to discuss your
location and needs for recycling your
wood-waste.
MMR operates State certified receiving yards
open year around to accept wood waste, and
where volumes warrant, MMR can provide
on-site pick up and/or coordination with your
existing waste hauler to remove your recyclable
wood-waste. MMR has its own transport
equipment available as well as contracted
specialized chip hauling trucks able to provide
timely removal of your material.
