Space has been our topic this week, we have made rockets and space ships. Used space
objects to play counting games and have shared lots of space stories.
We have been finding out about fossils and have even made our own fossil of our hand.
Our outdoor area is now finished so we are looking forward to spending some time
outside.
In literacy we have been writing a non-fictional book about the artic. In RE we have been
thinking of ways we can look after the world God created. It has also been assessment
week so we’ve had various maths activities and in science we have been learning about
trees and labelling the different plants.
This week we had great fun looking at Ordnance Survey maps. We have been using the
symbols and key to find human and physical geographical features.
We have been learning about 2D shapes and right angles. Our Egypt brochures that we
wrote were very persuasive! We made ancient Egyptian amulets with clay, they look
precious. We are sad to finish our Ancient Egyptian topic.
This week we have been revising what we have learnt throughout the term. In maths we
have been recapping written methods, such as column method used to subtract. In
literacy we have been practising our reading comprehension skills and learning how to
answer literal and inference questions.
We have been investigating factors that affect how sugar dissolves. We have also been
writing a story to with Australia.
We have completed tests in preparation for our SATS. We have also been writing based on
a video called The German In The Woods. It is a very emotional video about the Battle of
the Bulge.
