Sid Waite Family camp 2015 ➡ Ephesians 2:4-9 We begin our spiritual lives with God by being saved by grace, we need to know what grace is. Grace is God’s undeserved favor to us, because of His love and mercy. ➡ Romans 3:9, 10, 20-24 Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Man needed God’s grace because man could never do enough, to be good enough to be righteous before God Grace, however, is not a license to sin. 1 ➡ Romans 6:1-4, 15 Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; We are to imitate God; God loves, God gives, and God forgives. II Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. We need to grow in grace. 2 Amazing Grace Koby Sandusky Family camp 2015 Romans 5:19-21 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. ➡ II Chronicles 33:1-13 Verse 6 Molech- Cheif deity of the Ammonites. (see Lev. 18:21, Deut. 18:10, II Kings 23:10) Verse 11 King of Assyria (Esar-Haddon) 3 According to Bullinger ( Note: II Chronicles 33:11 ) Bullinger Companion Bible among the thorns = hooks or rings. A monument has been found showing this King Esar-Haddon leading two captives with hooks or rings through their lips. And in an inscription he says : " I transported (from Syria) into Assyria men and women innumerable.... I counted among the vassals of my realm twelve kings of syria, beyond the mountains, Balou king of Tyre, Manasseh king of Judah". ➡ Ephesians 2:1-7 ➡ II Chronicles 33:14-17 ➡ Psalm 84 4 God the Gracious Giver Doug Hamilton Family camp 2015 ➡ Genesis 1:1 God in the beginning created ➡ Genesis 2:7-9, 15 God formed man of the dust of the ground ➡ Genesis 1:27-31 God created man in his own image, replenish the earth, and subdue it ➡ Genesis 2:18-22 God formed every beast of the field, the first operation ➡ Genesis 3:15 Promise of the coming messiah…..why? John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Ask God ➡ II Timothy 3:14-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God II Chronicles 1:7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. ➡ II Corinthians 9:6-15 God loveth a cheerful giver 5 ➡ Luke 11:9-13 Father give bread, stone, scorpion, egg, holy spirit ➡ Acts 1:4:8 but wait for the promise of the Father I John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. ➡ Romans 8:15-18, 32 Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Joint Heir ➡ Ephesians 1:1-14 earnest of our inheritance v 14 ➡ Ephesians 2:4-8 That in the ages to come II Thessalonians 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, I Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; ➡ II Corinthians 5:17-21 committed unto us the word of reconciliation ➡ II Peter 1:3 given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness 6 Grace Foreshadowed James Davolos Sr. Family camp 2015 ➡ II Samuel 4:1-4 In the process of being take away they dropped him and damaged his legs, from that point he was lame. Chapter four continues with the assassination of King Ishbosheth. The assassins were his own men, Baanah and Rechab, who take his head to impress King David, who responds by executing them, rather than rewarding them. ➡ II Samuel 9:1 David wanted to show kindness to the son of Jonathan. Kindness is grace, and is unearned. I Samuel 20:12-17 (NIV) Then Jonathan said to David, “I swear by the LORD, the God of Israel, that I will surely sound out my father by this time the day after tomorrow! If he is favorably disposed toward you, will I not send you word and let you know? But if my father intends to harm you, may the LORD deal with Jonathan, be it ever so severely, if I do not let you know and send you away in peace. May the LORD be with you as he has been with my father. But show me unfailing kindness like the LORD’s kindness as long as I live, so that I may not be killed, and do not ever cut off your kindness from my family—not even when the LORD has cut off every one of David’s enemies from the face of the earth.” So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, “May the LORD call David’s enemies to account.” And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath out of love for him, because he loved him as he loved himself. ➡ II Samuel 9:2-3 7 Psalm 23:1-6 [[A Psalm of David.]] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. ➡ II Samuel 9:4-7 Numbers 27:8 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter. Luke 22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. ➡ II Samuel 9:8-13 8 Grace and Truth Came By Jesus Christ Kip Ferguson Family camp 2015 ➡ John 1:14-17 The promise of God in Genesis 3:15 came into being with the birth of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten son. Fullness means to complete or accomplish. We have received grace upon grace. Grace and truth is the figure of speech hendiadys, which is two words used, but one idea intended. True grace came by Jesus Christ. ➡ Genesis 2:16 & 17, 3:6-15 Death and sin entered the world, but so did the grace of God with the prophecy of man’s redeemer, the promised seed. Jesus Christ is the Promised Seed. Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. Jesus Christ Came to Destroy The Works of The Devil. I John 3:8 b “...For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” By The Grace of God, Jesus Christ Tasted Death For Every Man. Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 9 ➡ Hebrews 10:1-14 Jesus Christ accomplished what the law could not accomplish. ➡ II Corinthians 9:6-15 God loveth a cheerful giver ➡ Romans 5:6-21 God’s grace, and His gift of grace, Jesus Christ, allow grace to reign in our lives. ➡ Ephesians 2:4-8 We are saved by grace! 10 Saved By Grace Bob Capodici Family camp 2015 Need for a Savior John 3:16 The Sin and the Death Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: ➡ Romans 3:9-12 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Live By Believing The Gospel of God Concerning Jesus Christ Romans 1:16 & 17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. ➡ II Corinthians 5:17,21 Ephesians 1:6 [WT] unto the praise of the glory of His grace [favor], by which He highly favored us in the beloved one [Jesus Christ].1 Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power (or authority) of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: I John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. A wage is something you earn, a gift is something given freely with no strings attached. We were employees of sin looking forward to the eternal death payday, but now in Christ we have obtained clearance from that debt (he paid it in full). We are now employees of righteousness obtaining a most excellent payment. ➡ John 17:1-3 Gods perspective – definition: Jesus Christ is the one who gives eternal life and the reason is so that we can understand and know experientially God the Father and Jesus Christ. ➡ John 3:15-17 Our eternal life all rests upon the accomplishment of our Lord Jesus Christ. Mankind has two options: a) perish or b) eternal life and it is all free will on there part. ➡ Romans 5:15-21 Wowza! What a difference for mankind! Prior state: dead in trespass and sin, enemy of God, without God and without hope. 13 ➡ Psalm 39:4-7 God is his hope. Psalm 39:4-7 ISV "LORD, let me know how my life ends, and the standard by which you will measure my days, whatever it is! Then I will know how transient my life is. Look, you have made my life span fit in your hand; It is nothing compared to yours. Surely every person at their best is a puff of wind. Interlude. In fact, people walk around as shadows. Surely, they busy themselves for nothing, heaping up possessions but not knowing who will get them. How long, LORD, will I wait expectantly? I have placed my hope in you. Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; We have promise of eternal life, from the founder of eternity. (1John 2:25) ➡ Titus 3:4-7 ➡ Hebrews 9:11-15 Part of this eternal life is eternal redemption and an eternal inheritance. ➡ Romans 8:16-18 What God has in store for us throughout eternity is far passed our imagination. (Ephesians 3:20) ➡ Ephesians 2:5-8 Grace and eternal life. ➡ I Thessalonians 4:13-17 “So shall we ever be with the Lord.” 14 Our Response to God’s Grace Greg Earle Sr. Family camp 2015 Give Thanks To The Giver ➡ Luke 17:11-19 I Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. ➡ Colossians 1:2, 3, 12 I Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is give you by Jesus Christ; I Corinthians 14:14-18 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 15 Enjoy What You Receive I Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; Give of What you Have Received to Honor God and to Share with Others ➡ Proverbs 3:9-10 ➡ II Corinthians 9:6-12 Serve with The Ability Given to You Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. ➡ I Corinthians 15:9-10 Romans 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; ➡ I Peter 4:10-11 16 Walk in Grace Rev. Earl Burton Family camp 2015 There is no place in the bible that says walk in grace, however, it is implied. ➡ Luke 1:76-79 ...sit in darkness... Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: How did we receive Christ Jesus the lord? Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. How did we receive newness of life? ➡ Romans 8:1-4 ➡ Galatians 5:16-18 We are to walk in the spirit. How did we get spirit? By grace. ➡ Ephesians 2:1-10 ➡ Ephesians 4;1, 17 Without grace could only walk as Gentiles... ➡ Ephesians 5:1-16 17 Walk in love ➡ Romans 5:5, 6-10 Walk in light ➡ II Corinthians 4:1-7 ➡ I John 1:5-7 Walk in Wisdom ➡ I Corinthians 2:9-14 Walk Worthy Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; I Thessalonians 2:12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. ➡ Romans 8:31-39 18 “My Grace is Sufficient for Thee”;God’s Answer to Tribulation Greg Earle, Jr. Family camp 2015 The Manifold Grace of God 1 Peter 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. By God’s Grace By God’s grace, He planned for man’s redemption through the promise of the messiah. By God’s grace, we have the ability to believe in Jesus Christ (not by works). (Ephesians 2:8) By God’s grace, we have been imputed righteousness and salvation by believing. By God’s grace, we have received redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Ephesians 1:7) By God’s grace, we have received the holy spirit and eternal life. (Romans 6:23) By God’s grace, we are highly favored in the beloved one. (Ephesians 1:6) By God’s grace, we have received jobs to do, ways of ministering in the body. (Romans 12:6) God’s grace is so diversified, shown to us in so many ways, and yet having all these things handed to us, God’s grace does not end there! ➡ Hebrews 4:14-16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. In Tribulation, God’s Grace is All We Need ➡ Psalm 84:9-12 ➡ Ezra 9:6-15 19 II Corinthians 1:8-10 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; ➡ II Corinthians 11:1 - 12:8 II Corinthians 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. Our Expectation is Now Deliverance ➡ Romans 5:1-5 That tribulation works patience, that patience works experience and experience works hope. Now, our expectation in any tribulation, in any infirmity, in any reproach, in any necessity, in any persecution, in any distress, can be that God’s grace will provide whatever we need in a situation for our weakness to be made strength by the power of Christ resting upon us. The Result: Rest to God’s People ➡ Exodus 33:12-17 ➡ Hebrews 4:1-16 By God’s grace, we can continue to go to him in any situation and know that He will provide the grace to help us in our time of need. Our expectation can be in our God to deliver us from any and all situations where our strength fails, and be assured that when we do these things, we will have rest in our God and in our Christ. 20 Love and Grace Rev. Sid Waite Family camp 2015 God is Rich in Mercy ➡ Ephesians 2:4-9 Verse 4 God loves us with great love Verse 5 We are saved by grace Verse 7 The kindness of His grace towards us Verse 8 A gift of God So God is rich in His mercy and grace towards us, He is committed to us by His love. God sending His son, because He loved us, was an act of His grace. ➡ John 3:16-18 ➡ Romans 1:19, 20, 28-32 ➡ Romans 3:9-19 Adam sinned, and mankind turned away from God, rejected God. So man brought condemnation and judgement upon himself. 21 ➡ Romans 5:8, 14-17 ➡ Romans 8:1-4, 15-18, 31, 32 Verse 31 Why is He for us? Because He loves us! Verse 32 God spared nothing to save us, to make us His children. Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: I Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. ➡ Colossians 3:10-17 22
