APRIL 1 SATURDAY 10 AM OAK HILL Level 3, 5 to 7 miles, RR. Address: 3901 Oak Hill
Road, Peninsula. Directions: Go north on I-77 to Rte. 8 and take the Steels Corner Road Exit.
Turn left. Follow it until it dead ends. Turn right onto Akron/Peninsula Road. Go to Ira Road
and turn left. At the stop sign turn right onto Riverview Rd. Continue to Everett Road on your
left. Turn left on Everett Rd. After rounding the corner past Everett Covered Bridge, turn right
onto Oak Hill Rd. Go past the Environmental Education Center and the Oak Hill Parking lot is

APRIL 2 SUNDAY 2 PM HUSTON BRUMBAUGH NATURE CENTER Level 2, 5 miles,
RR. Meet at the Huston Woods parking lot on Daniel St. south of Alliance. Address: 16146
Daniel St. NE, Minerva. Directions: Take Rte. 62 east to Alliance. Exit onto Rte. 173 (State
Street) Turn right (east) on Rte. 173 and go approximately 3 miles to Rte. 183 (S. Union Street)
Turn right (south) on Rte. 183, go approximately 5 miles to Daniel Street. Turn left on Daniel

miles, RR. Address: 135 Lake Avenue NW., Massillon. Directions: From Rte. 30: Follow Rte.
21 into Massillon and exit at Lake Ave. Ernie’s is on the southwest corner of Rte. 21 and Lake

APRIL 5 WEDNESDAY 6 PM PETROS PARK Level 2, 5 miles, RR. Address: 3519 Perry
Dr. SW, Canton. Meet at the Parking Lot on Perry Road. Directions: Take Rte. 77 to Faircrest
Exit south of Canton. Turn west, go to Perry Road, turn north to parking lot on the left.

APRIL 8 SATURDAY 10 AM BOLIVAR DAM Level 2, 5 miles, RR at McDonald’s. Meet at
McDonald’s in Wilkshire Hills (Zoar/Bolivar). Address for McDonald’s: 11123 OH 212,
Bolivar. Directions: I-77 south to Bolivar/Zoar exit. Turn left, go to McDonald’s on Rte. 212 in

APRIL 9 SUNDAY 2 PM ME AND MY DOG HIKE MASSILLON LINCOLN PARK
(17TH ST.) Level 2, 5 miles, RR. Address: 644 17th Street NW at Lincoln Park Ave. NW in
Massillon. Get to Massillon via Rte. 21. Take Cherry Ave. west from Rte. 21 and then turn left
onto 17th St. Parking in on the left. We will hike the Sippo Valley Trail.

PARK) – Level 1, 5 miles, RR. Address: 1714 Schneider St. NE, Canton. Directions: South on
Main Street from North Canton, then east (left) onto Schneider St NE. Go across Market and
continue on Schneider to the Park, across from Glen Oak HS. We will hike the Middle Branch

APRIL 15 SATURDAY 9 AM NORMA JOHNSON CONSERVATION CENTER (NJCC)
Level 3, 5 miles. RR available seasonally. Meet at the parking lot on Conservation Drive.
Address: Conservation Dr., Dover (no street number available). Directions: Take I-77 south to
the Dover/Sugarcreek exit 83 (Route 39). Take Rte. 39 west 3.2 miles then turn right (north) on
Old Rte. 39 (County Road 139). Travel about 0.1 mile to Conservation Drive and entrance to
NJCC on the right. Follow Conservation Drive for 0.3 mile to the parking lot. This scenic hike
is on 303 acres of Tuscarawas Soil and Water Conservation District property.

(WARMINGTON RD.) Level 2, 5 miles, RR. Address: 8000 Warmington Rd. SW, Massillon.
Meet at the Warmington Rd. parking lot on the south side of the road. Directions: Take Rte. 21
south out of Massillon to Warmington Rd. and turn right (west) to parking lot on the left. Let’s

TRAILHEAD Level 1, 5 miles, RR. Address: 2740 Manchester Rd., Akron. Directions: Take
I-77/224 west to Manchester Rd. (Rte. 93) exit, turn left on 93 and go south. Trailhead entrance
on the right. If you are coming from the south, heading north on Rte. 93, you will then make a

APRIL 22 SATURDAY 10 AM THE LEDGES FROM OCTAGON SHELTER Level 3, 5
miles, RR. Meet at the Octagon Parking Lot. Address: 499 Kendall Park Rd., Peninsula.
Directions: North on I-77/8 to Seasons Road exit. At the stop sign, turn left. Go to the first stop
sign (Wyoga Lake Rd.) turn right. Go a short distance to next stop sign at State Street, turn right.
Go to the traffic light. Turn left onto Kendall Road and continue to Octagon Parking lot on the
right. We will hike the Ledges and Pine Grove trail. Leader: Ann Dolvin
APRIL 22 SATURDAY 10 AM HIRAM COLLEGE FIELD STATION and EAGLE
NATURE CENTER GARRETTSVILLE. Joint hike with Akron Metro Parks Hiking
Group. Level 2/3, no RR. Stop in town for restrooms. Meet at Hiram College James H. Barrow
Field Station for a 5 mile hike. Address: 11243 Wheeler Road, Hiram, OH. Wildflowers should
be in bloom. Lunch at Sean’s Pub on 8105 Main Street in Garrettsville. After lunch we’ll head
over to Eagle Creek State Nature Preserve for another 5 mile hike, 11027 Hopkins Road
Garrettsville. Finish the day and relax afterwards at Candlelight Winery, 11325 Center Road,

Alabama Ave SW, Wilmot, OH 44689. Meet at the Wilderness Center in Wilmot. Meet in the
lower parking lot. Directions: Take Rte. 62 west to Wilmot. At first light turn right onto Rte.
250. Go straight through the next light, go about a mile and then just across a bridge is the sign
for the Wilderness Center on the right. Leader: Kathy Smith

Level 2, 5 miles. Restroom at Starbucks or Jimmy John’s or Giant Eagle. Address: 1325 E Maple
St, North Canton. Directions: From the square in North Canton, take East Maple St. for a little
over a mile to Washington Square on the left. Turn left at the stoplight to pull into the parking
lot and go by Handel’s Ice Cream. Park behind Starbucks, between 91 Wood Fired Oven and the
bank. We will hike the Hoover trail. Leader: Lynn Lenart

APRIL 29 SATURDAY 10 AM BLUEBELL HIKE Level 3, 5 miles, RR. Address: 2370
Everett Road, Peninsula. We will hike in the Furnace Run section. The first hill is the only really
steep climb. Hopefully we will see the fields of bluebells in full bloom this year. Directions:
Take Rte. 8 N to Steels Corner Rd. Turn left. Follow Steels Corner until it dead ends into Akron
Peninsula Road. Turn right, continue to Ira Road. Turn left onto Ira. Follow Ira to next stop sign
and turn right onto Riverview Road. Follow it until you see Everett Road on left. Everett Road
Covered Bridge is located 1/2 mile west of Riverview Road Continue to parking lot on left.

APRIL 30 SUNDAY 2 PM MAHONING VALLEY TRAIL Deer Creek Reservoir Trailhead
Level 2, 5 miles, RR. Address: 14514 Price St. NE, Alliance. Directions: Take US 62 towards
Alliance. Continue onto US 62 T (Atlantic Blvd.) turn left onto SR 225. Turn left onto Price St.
NE then turn left onto driveway to parking lot. Leader: Jim Holl
