visiting mime artist - Reede Steele,
from Young Audiences.

ART ROOM NEWS!
A warm welcome goes out to Ms.
White from Herron School of Art
who will be teaching art with Mrs.
Thompson in January and February.
4th and 5th grade students in
Artistically Talented will be going to
Herron School of Art on Jan. 27 for
a full day studio session. Also, the
art room welcomes donations of
watercolor sets, baby wipes, glue
sticks and markers to boost art room
supplies for second semester. Send
any of these items with your child if
you’d like to contribute.

KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT
2017-18
Kindergarten Enrollment is an ongoing process that runs February 1st
through June 9th from 9:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m. daily.
Children must be 5 years old on or
before September 1, 2017. Students
must be enrolled by and reside with a
parent or legal guardian within the
Washington Township district.
To fill out enrollment documents,
please bring the following items with
you:

child’s original birth certificate

child’s
record

proof of residency documents in
the name of the parent/legal
guardian, i.e. mortgage statement
or payment book, current property
tax statement, OR current lease
AND

one current utility bill showing the
same name and residency
address.

General Information
Four fascinating Saturday sessions
will allow students in grades 1 - 5 to
participate in science activities
designed to increase their interest
and excitement for science.
Participants will use the facilities
and equipment of the North Central
Science Department under the
direction of the North Central
science teachers. The activities will
involve a variety of experiments in
the
biological,
environmental,
physical and chemical sciences.
Activities will not duplicate those of
the last five years.

Children’s
Museum
of
Indianapolis offers free and reduced
admission throughout the year.
Lower-priced options include:
$5 First Thursday Nights: The first
Thursday of each month from 4–8
p.m. admission is $5 per person.
We highly recommend that you buy
your tickets in advance online as
these days may be a little crowded.
Free Days: There will be four free
days each year. Those days are
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
(January),
Presidents
Day
(February), El Día de los Niños
(April),

Christmas
Eve
(December).

FRIENDLY REMINDER
END OF DAY TRANSPORTATION
If your child’s normal end of day transportation needs to change, whether for one
day or permanently, please send a signed and dated note to your child’s
teacher including a phone number at which you can be reached during
dismissal time. If your child is going to another student’s home whether by bus or
car pickup, BOTH students must bring signed and dated notes to their teachers.
For safety, changes will not be accepted via a phone call.
All bus changes need to be approved in the office before a student can ride a
different bus.
