Algebra 2 Summer Assignment
Dear Algebra 2 Students to be,
These are the algebraic skills needed for success in Algebra 2. If you do not remember how to do some of the
problems, search the bold faced topic on the internet and you will find multiple sites that will help you with the
topics. It is suggested that you work on this worksheet one to two weeks prior to the school year beginning. This
will refresh your memory and get you into the “math” mode. SHOW ALL YOUR WORK and DO NOT USE
A CALCULATOR! All work must be shown for each problem neatly and in sequential order. If you are doing
math in your head, show it on the paper. At Hagerty High School, the work is just as important as the answer.
This will be GRADED ON CORRECTNESS! All answers must be written in SIMPLEST EXACT FORM.
Enjoy your summer and we look forward to guiding you through Algebra 2 next year.
This is NOT group work. Anything you turn in is assumed to be your own work, done without a calculator. If it
is determined that it is not your own work, this will be considered a violation of ACADEMIC INTEGRITY,
which will result in a “0” and a referral.

Graphing: Graph each equation. NO SKETCHING!
To Graph:
1.
Pick 5 x – values.

17.
𝑦 = 3𝑥 − 5
18.
𝑦 = 2(𝑥 − 6)2 − 2
19.
𝑦 = −𝑥 2 − 4𝑥 + 2
20.
4𝑦 − 5𝑥 = 20
2. Plug the x – values into the equation and solve for y.
3. Plot the 5 points.
