Information Sheet
Main Information
Synopsis:
Comprised of three intercut, but unrelated stories, it
is a chronicle of life in a large apartment block. The
film begins on an early morning when a man quietly
leaps from a 12-story apartment building while a
radio cheerfully blares about the greatness of his
native island. In one of the stories, a middle-aged
fumbler of a husband tries to contend with his new
bride, a self-absorbed gold digger looking only for
fun. In another, a hyper-responsible, old fashioned
older brother, left in charge by his vacationing
parents, tries to cope with his sexually active little
sister and his baby brother. The third and briefest
story deals with a lonely, overweight and depressive
young woman who tries miserably to contend with a
domineering, overly critical mother.

Information Sheet
Main Information
Logline:
A stranded WWII Japanese war cameraman armed
with nothing but his camera hooks up with remnants
of the scattered 6th Army. The maps are all wrong,
the radio malfunctions and a mysterious figure is
seen through the viewfinder of the camera. Will they
reach their own lines, or will they be stopped by the
ghost in the viewfinder?
Synopsis:
A suspenseful horror set against an unforgettable
war. The year is 1942. The setting – Malaya. SGT
YASUO FUJII, a war cameraman, is huddled in a
trench, waiting to film the Japanese 6th Army cross
the Slim River on its way south to Kuala Lumpur. An
enemy mortar shell lands in the trench and, in a
heartbeat, SGT.FUJII is running through the jungle
for his life. Armed with nothing except his 8mm
camera, the young soldier soon hooks up with
remnants of the scattered 6th Army. There is SGT.
TAKESHI SATO, a steely veteran of the China war,
then there is PFC. JIRO GOTO, an awkward
radioman from Hokkaido. In addition, there is CPT.
HIROSHI TANAKA, an artillery officer with a lifethreatening stomach wound. Before long, the four
men are joined by a fifth – CPL. YOSHIO SUZUKI,
a nervous wreck who swears that he saw a ghost in
the jungle. Taking CPL. SUZUKI to be mentally
unsound, the rest head south to rejoin
their division.
Immediately, they sense that something is amiss. All
their maps are wrong. Then, PFC. GOTO’s radio
malfunctions. SGT. FUJII starts sighting mysterious
figures through the viewfinder of his 8mm camera.
And then, CPL. SUZUKI’s warning comes true. A
female ghost singing an eerie song starts haunting
the five men.
Racing against time to get the wounded CPT.
TANAKA back to the division, the five men fight the
vicious jungle, thirst and
hunger as they dash south towards Kuala Lumpur.
But
conditions worsen. Rivalries break out and the
group is divided.
The five men are lost inside the maze-like jungle,
and CPT.
TANAKA’s life hangs in the balance. A cameraman
rather than
a soldier, SGT. FUJII finds the job of keeping
everyone alive
falling on his shoulders.
Survival is at stake. And the ghost is hot on their
heels. Will the
five soldiers make it to safety?

SONG OF THE STORK
Full-length Feature
Information Sheet
Main Information
Synopsis:
SONG OF THE STORK is a historic feature film,
marking several firsts in motion picture history. The
production is the first ever Singaporean-Vietnamese
joint effort in filmmaking. It is also the first time an
international production team has been allowed into
Vietnam to shoot a film about the Vietnam-American
War. Tran Van Thuy, a former North Vietnamese
War Correspondent
brings us on a journey into his own mind and those
of the spirits of the millions of Vietnamese who died
in the Vietnam War. He
meets old friends and enemies and they remember
and share their experiences. Through their pasts,
we tell the story of five
enlisted men and their different experiences during
the war. It looks not only at the horrors of the
battlefield, but also the camaraderie between the
men, and the love ones they left
behind. The film takes an alternative look at war
through the eyes of a people who fought not for any
intellectual principle, but simply for the chance to
live a peaceful life with their families. It is really a
story about love, life and destiny.
