Shortly after Monday morning check-in, you will receive an email detailing what to expect in the week ahead. Check-in on Monday of each week is 8:30 am – 9 am. Tuesday–Friday, check-in is 8:50 am – 9 am. Families arriving before 8:50 am on Tuesday–Friday can choose to wait with their campers until check-in, or pay the $10 daily charge for morning extended care, space permitting. CHECK-OUT Check-out is at 3 pm every day. If your Nebula is signed up for the part-day program, check-out is at 1 pm. To keep campers safe, we require a photo ID from an adult on your camper’s authorized pick-up list every day at check-out. If you would like to add someone to your camper’s authorized pick-up list, please visit the Help Desk at check-in or call the camp phone number. Updates you make to your online account after Friday at 3pm will not be reflected in our rosters and must be verified at camp. We charge a $1 per minute late fee for families picking up after 3:10 pm (or 1:10 pm for part-day Nebulas). Campers will wait in the camp office or in extended care, space permitting. If your camper is signed up for afternoon extended care, check-out is at 6 pm. We charge a $1 per minute late fee after 6 pm. CHECKING IN/OUT AT MULTIPLE CAMPS If you have kids attending two different Galileo locations during the same week, you can check in as early as 8:30 am and check out as late as 3:30 pm (you’ll likely have to pick up your camper in extended care if you arrive after 3:10 pm). Simply give the staff at both camps a heads up on Monday if you need to take advantage of these extended hours. CHECKING OUT EARLY If you need to pick up your camper during the camp day, please call your Camp Director or visit the camp office. Each camper will get a Camp Galileo t-shirt during his or her first week of camp. FOOD & WATER If you’d like to sign up for our healthy lunch program (for $38 per week, our lunch partner Choicelunch provides daily morning snacks and lunches; you pack the drinks), log in to your account or give us a call by 5 pm on the Wednesday before your camp session starts. If you’re already signed up for lunch, you can customize your camper’s menu by logging into your Choicelunch account and selecting a week’s worth of meals by 5 pm on the Thursday before your camp session starts. If you have questions about this process, give us a call at 1-800-854-3684. Note that lunches do not include drinks, so please pack your camper a drink and/or water bottle. If your camper’s day includes afternoon extended care, please pack a snack as well (even if you’ve signed up for Choicelunch). Please note that campers may not share food due to health and safety restrictions. SUN PROTECTION Campers should arrive with sunscreen already applied and may want to bring a hat and additional sunscreen. Campers will have the opportunity to re-apply sunscreen throughout the day. PAPER BAG FOR PROJECTS Campers will create both group projects that will stay at camp and individual projects they can take home. Please have your camper bring a grocery-sized paper bag by Friday to pack up these individual projects. EPIPENS If your child requires an EpiPen, please label it with his or her name and bring it to camp on Monday morning. All of our staff members are trained on how to administer an EpiPen in the event of an emergency. You’re also welcome to call your Camp Director the week before camp to talk through any concerns or specific instructions you may have. WHAT TO LEAVE AT HOME We ask your campers to leave their pets, toys, games, cards, cell phones, video games, other technology items or any other personal valuables at home—Galileo cannot be responsible for these items at camp. We do not allow weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or other banned substances at camp. Campers who ride bicycles or scooters to camp are responsible for locking and securing them on their own. Questions? Contact Customer Service at [email protected] or 1-800-854-3684 3 Other Camp Info ADDING EXTENDED CARE We offer extended care from 8 am – 9 am and 3 pm – 6 pm. If space is still available, you can sign up for full weeks of extended care online or over the phone before camp starts. You can also add full weeks or individual days of morning or afternoon extended care in in person during the camp week, space permitting. Please note that extended care can fill up quickly, so if you know you need it, we suggest booking your spot in advance. ADDING SESSIONS Visit your camp location page for up-to-the minute availability at your site. Space permitting, you can sign up for additional weeks of camp online or over the phone by 3 pm on the Friday before the week you want to attend. And, the more weeks you add, the more you save. Save $20 off your second week, $30 off your third week and $50 off your fourth and subsequent weeks. Plus, get 40% off extended care when you sign up for two or more weeks of camp. LOST AND FOUND Help us keep track of your campers’ belongings by labeling all personal items with their first and last names. Check the lost and found or ask your Camp Director for lost items. Unfortunately, we are unable to store lost and found items once camp is over, so don’t wait to start your search—we will donate any unclaimed items on the final day of camp at each location. BEHAVIOR ISSUES We may ask campers who disrupt the camp experience for others to leave camp. We have a zero tolerance policy for hitting or inflicting physical harm on other campers. In those cases, we will contact a parent to pick up the child immediately. We do not issue refunds to campers who are asked to leave camp. CAMPER AIDES Camper aides are welcome at camp, but must be approved by Galileo and complete a background check before camp begins. Give us a call at 1-800-854-3684 to make arrangements. SICK POLICY It’s important to us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our campers and staff. If your child is sick and could possibly be contagious, please do not send him or her to camp, and call your Camp Director to note your camper’s absence. If a camper becomes sick while at camp, we will call a parent to come pick him or her up. REFUND POLICY • No refunds for camp after June 1. Refunds for lunch and extended care are offered as long as we are notified the week before your camp session begins. • No refunds if your child misses a day of camp • $10 per session fee for any date or location changes—all transfers must be made at least 7 days before the start of your camp week We can’t wait to see your family at camp!
