Opportunities for Media Coverage and Publicity

Opportunities for Media Coverage and Publicity The “Classroom Under the Sea” program offers worldwide media and viewer coverage for a period of more than 8 months. Media coverage has already appeared throughout the US and even in Europe, and the program will not start until October. {See: www.mrdf.org and www.roanestate.edu/classroomunderthesea). As the events come closer to their presentation dates, press releases will be issued naming the subject matter and keynote speaker for the week. Each release will name the sponsors and their interest in the sea. A marketing program to make middle school and high schools aware of the undersea classroom programs will be carried out by Roane State Community College. This will include press releases and promotional TV releases. It will also be assisted by Andy Newman and Associates, the marketing firm for the Florida Keys. Marine Resources Development Foundation has an email list of more than 1200 schools. The schools will be notified of the program. Jules’ Undersea Lodge has been a magnet for media coverage in the past. Jules’ has more than 450 documented newspaper and magazine articles.
