CONFIGURING EMAIL
To configure your email account on a your computer (or to add the [email protected] email
address to another mail program – such as Outlook, Outlook Express, MacOs Mail.app, Windows Live
Mail, Gmail, etc), click on “Configure Mail Client”
After clicking on the Configure Mail Client Icon, the following page is presented.
You can click on the Automatic Configuration scripts in the upper half of the page or the Manual
Settings information in the lower half.

As an example, to configure Microsoft Outlook 2000 for windows, click on IMAP over SSL/TLS in the
box alongside Microsoft Outlook 2000.
The following prompt appears
Follow the instructions as prompted by the script to Proceed. Your email will now be configured.
Manual Configuration
Please select IMAP over SSL/TLS as this is the secure way to check email via an email client.
Use the email account settings
Select the port for IMAP (not POP3) for the Incoming Server and for Outgoing Server, use SMTP.

Using Webmail
Users can select any of the three interfaces (Horde, RoundCube or Squirrel Mail) to check mail via
the web. Users can also switch from one interface to another depending on their personal choice.
After selecting one of the three, the user can select the [Enable Autoload] so that they are directed
to the selected program automatically for future logins.

CONFIGURING GMAIL TO AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE YOUR EMAIL

Do not select Send through Gmail. Select the other option which will give your SMTP servers

Enter your full email address and password. After loggin in, go to your Inbox and check for the
verification email from Google.
Enter the code from the body of the email from Gmail. Typical code has 9
digits and appears like: 888030483
The new email address will now appear in the list of email accounts. Click on make default (circled
below) to set this as your default email address for sending mail.
Your email is configured!
Now Go to your Gmail Inbox and REFRESH to check your email.

FOR USERS WITH GOOGLE APP EMAIL ACCOUNTS
If you are Using Google APPS email, then you will need to go through one additional step for
receiving emails using POP3. To do this, following steps.
In Settings, Under Check mail from other accounts (using POP3), click on the Add a POP3 mail
account you own link as highlighted below.
The pop-up box will appear as below.
Enter your email address provided to you. Then Click Next Step.
The pop-up menu box appears as below.

Enter the full username (your new email address) and Password.
Enter POP Server mail.yourserver.org in the example below, mail.stvirgilacademy.org
Make sure that Port is 110.
Then click Add Account.
You will now find the listing of the new email account in your CHECK MAIL from OTHER Accounts
(using POP3) under the Accounts Tab of Settings.
