 School Dress Code Every Monday, students are to wear the required Woodlands Classical Academy uniform, in its entirety. In addition, students will be asked to wear the required uniform on other designated days such as Picture Day, Veterans Day celebration, etc. On the remaining days of the week, students should arrive each day wearing any Woodlands Classical Academy approved uniform combination. These uniform items must be purchased from Parker School Uniforms. For optional uniform items, please refer to Parker Product Price List. Additional Clothing Since our building and classrooms can be warm in the summer and cool in the winter, wearing multiple layers will help students be able to adjust to changes in temperature at school. ­ Winter jackets can be any color as long as they are not worn in the classroom. ­ Any outerwear (vest, sweater, cardigan, etc.) worn in the building/classroom for any length of time must be a Parker School Uniforms item listed on the Product Price List for Woodlands Classical Academy. These items will be monogramed. ­ Each Friday of the week will be a Spirit Day. Students may wear the Woodlands Classical Academy spirit shirt with uniform bottoms or jeans. ­ Jeans must be without holes, slits, or embellishments down the legs. Skinny jeans will not be allowed. If a student is not participating in Spirit Day, he/she must be in school uniform. Hair ­ Hair should be of a natural color and out of the eyes. ­ Hair should be worn so as not to be a distraction to the general learning environment. ­ No students are to wear bandanas or scarves on the head. ­ No students are to wear hats, ball caps, or head wear except for a school­sanctioned event. ­ Boys’ hair must be trimmed above the collar and above the eyes. ­ Boys may not wear ponytails. Jewelry ­ Ear piercings are allowed for girls only. ­ Female students may wear button style or small earrings. Styles should be no larger than a quarter. ­ Boys may not wear earrings or ear jewelry. ­ All jewelry should be worn so as not to cause a distraction to the general learning environment. Skin Visible tattoos are not permitted. Enforcement Policy If a student’s dress or grooming is inappropriate or objectionable under these provisions, the Director or Assistant Director shall request the student make appropriate corrections. If the student refuses, the Director or Assistant Director shall notify the student’s parent and request the parent make the necessary correction. If both student and parent refuse to comply with dress code, the Director or Assistant Director shall take disciplinary action. The policy governing campus dress and grooming shall be enforced uniformly and fairly by the faculty and administration. It shall be the responsibility of the professional staff to determine the appropriateness of proper dress for all school occasions.
