ABOUT THE COFFE ORIGIN
The region of San Vicente Pacaya is located 45 km from
Guatemala City. The region is characterized by the
famous Volcano Pacaya, which is a main landmark of
the region and attracts hikers year long. The area is
surrounded by five major rivers and the calderas
lagoon. This fertile, volcantic terroir makes creates
ideal agricultural conditions and the area is well known
for producing corn, fruit, and coffee.

Finca El Mezcal is Nestled in the mountains surrounding the Payaca Volcano, specifically known as
the region of San Vicente Pacaya. It has been owned by the Morales family for four generations, they
wash and process their own coffee that they later sun dry in their patios. To preserve soil and
biodiversity the coffee is shade grown, which is beneficial for the development of the cherries and
also the native forest and wildlife.
