Why is a new government needed?
A new government was needed because after the American Revolution, the Americans
wanted a new government. They wanted a new government that had enough power to do its job,
but not give to much power to one person. Then the Americans were unhappy because they felt
like the government was not working because Congress was too weak to end conflicts between
our states. So the Constitutional Convention came up with the idea of making three branches
instead of one.
What is the purpose of the Constitution?
The purpose of the U.S. Constitution is to make life better for everyone in this country. It
does this by protecting us from other people or countries who might try to harm us. The
Constitution also protects our rights and freedom by creating three branches of government. Each
branch makes sure that one doesn't have more power than the other. The Constitution also makes
the rules for us to live by. That's the purpose of the U.S. Constitution.
How is the Government Structured and Organized?
The government is structured and organized into the three branches: the
Legislative, the Judicial, and the Executive. Each has its own power. The Legislative
includes the Congress, made of the Senate and the House of Representatives. They do
this by making laws for our country. The Executive includes the president and the vice
president their job is to meet leaders of other counties. The Judicial branch includes the
Supreme Court and the Federal Court their job is to make sure our laws follow the
United.
Powers Does the New Government Have?
The new government has several powers. The Legislative Branch makes laws for the
country and passes laws. The Judicial Branch makes sure our laws follow the U.S. Constitution
and decides constitutional questions about laws. Meanwhile, the Executive Branch meets with
leaders of other countries and enforces laws. Each branch makes sure one branch doesn't have
too much power.
The Bill of Rights
The Bill of Rights is the first Ten Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. The Bill of
Rights enforces the rights of Americans. One example, the 1st Amendment, provides
freedom of press, speech, religion, expression, and the freedom to meet in peace. The Bill of
Rights is extremely necessary for several reasons. First of all, it supports individual rights,
which the constitution lacks. Another example is Amendment 2. It explains how Americans
has the right to bear arms or in other words to carry a gun. My last example of an Amendment
is Amendment 8. Amendment 8 explains how every criminal should have a fair bail and
punishment.
