Abstract The seminar will briefly discuss the nature of science and the state of the social sciences. It will then stress the necessity and discuss the implications of refocusing social sciences on culture and the mind. The effect of such refocusing, it will be argued, could be similar to the effect of Darwin’s theory of evolution through natural selection on the development of biology, namely, opening the possibility for an actual – empirical, logical, and therefore capable of accumulating objective knowledge – science of man. An interactive roundtable discussion will follow the presentation.
