The ability to choose Print Quality (200/300/400/600 for 6030/6050 and 200/300/400 for all other models) 2. New Xerox logos Page 6 of 11 4 Driver Installation This PostScript driver is delivered in self-extracting Zip file format on CD or from the Internet at http://www.xerox.com. To extract, double click on the appropriate zip file and the driver files will be automatically extracted to the indicated default folder on your hard drive. Note: If this process is not fully automated, just click on “Unzip” within the WinZip window. 4.1 Installation Note: You must be the administrator or a user with administrator rights to add the printer.. 1. Click "Start," "Settings," and "Printers" to open the "Printers" (or Printers and Faxes for XP/2003) window. 2. From the "Printers" window, double click on the Add Printer icon. 3. When the "Add Printer Wizard" displays, click Next. 4. Click on the Local printer radio button, unless you will be printing through a network server in which case you should select Network printer. Also, deselect (uncheck) the "Automatically detect…" check box. Click Next. Note: If you select Network Printer, you will have to click Next to open up the applicable network directories and sub-directories to locate your printer's server. 5. For Local Printers, from the "Select the Printer Port" window, select the Use the following port radio button and highlight a Printer Port. If you need to create a new port, select the “Create a new port” radio button and select the type of port. Click Next. 6. When the "Manufacturers and Printers" window displays, click Have Disk… and enter the path to the driver files on your CD ROM, or hard drive if downloaded from the Internet. Click OK. Note: You can also use the Browse button to locate and select the required "AccXESPS_xxx.inf" File 7. When the "Printers" window displays, select your printer (for example Wide Format Print System 510 series PS) from the displayed list of printers. Click Next.. 8. When prompted, accept the default printer name shown, or use your keyboard to give your printer a more descriptive name. Select either Yes or No to make this printer your default windows printer. Click Next. 9. Printer Sharing. Share this printer if you want others to be able to use this printer. Click Next. 10. If the printer is powered on and capable of communicating with your workstation, when prompted to print a test page select Yes. Click Next. 11. Click Finish. 12. Verify that an icon representing your PostScript printer is now displayed in your "Printers" window. 13. Reboot Page 7 of 11 4.2 Post-Installation Steps Windows 2000 and XP contain “Advanced printing features", which is enabled by default. However, if you are using the job labels feature, this checkbox should be unchecked to allow the Job Name to print. This checkbox is found as follows: In Windows 2000: Start>Settings>Printers> right click on the FreeFlow Accxes printer icon> select Properties from the pulldown menu>click on Advanced Tab. Near the bottom of the dialog box is a checkbox for Enable advanced printing features. In Windows XP/2003: Start>Settings>Printer and Faxes> right click on the FreeFlow Accxes printer icon> select Properties from the pull-down menu>click on Advanced Tab. Near the bottom of the dialog box is a checkbox for Enable advanced printing features. 4.3 Driver Removal Deleting a Printer 1. To remove the PostScript Print Driver, from the Windows desktop click on “Start”, “Settings”, “Printers.” 2. Right click on the icon representing your Wide Format PostScript printer. 3. Select Delete from the drop-down menu. 4. Click Yes when prompted. This will remove the Wide Format PostScript Print Driver from your Printer folder. 5. Reboot PC 6. From the Printers folder, select “File”, “Server Properties”, then select the “Drivers” tab. 7. From the list of drivers on the “Drivers” tab, select all Xerox Wide Format PS drivers. 8. Click the “Remove” button. 9. Click Yes when prompted. This will remove the PostScript Print Driver from your Windows operating system. 10. Reboot. Deleting Driver Files from the Windows System Directory To delete the files installed on your system when you used the Have Disk… button with the Windows Add Printer Wizard, perform the following steps after performing the “Driver Removal” instructions: 1. From "Start," "Programs," "Accessories," open Windows Explorer. Page 8 of 11 2. In Windows Explorer, open the "3" folder using the following path: [Windows directory]\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3. 3. Delete the following files, if still present: AccXESPS.INI XESPSUI.DLL XESPSKM.DLL XESPS32R.DLL XESUILIB.DLL XRX8825.PPD XRX8825.BPD XRX8830.PPD XRX8830.BPD XRX8850.PPD XRX8850.BPD XRX510DP.PPD XRX510DP.BPD XRX721P.PPD XRX721P.BPD XRXDW6030.PPD XRXDW6030.BPD XRXDW6050.PPD XRXDW6050.BPD XESPSDRV.HLP 4. Close Windows Explorer. Deleting the Port 1. From the Printers folder, select “File”, “Server Properties”, then select the “Ports” tab 2. Highlight the port and click the delete button 3. Reboot PC 4.4 Upgrading To upgrade from a previous version of the driver: • Delete the previous version of the driver. • Install the current version of the driver. • If prompted to use an exiting driver or replace it, always choose replace driver. Page 9 of 11 5 Known Issues Deleted Wide Format PS Driver Files If you deleted a PS driver, the printer model names will remain in the Manufactures and Printers Windows of the Add Printer Wizard. Windows 2000/XP/2003 advanced printing options The "Advanced printing features" checkbox is enabled by default. However, if you are using the job labels feature, this checkbox should be unchecked to allow the Job Name to print. See the “Post-Installations Steps” section for the location of the checkbox. Corel Draw Corel Draw 10 ignores the “Color/Black & White” setting in Printer Preferences. Adobe PhotoShop Adobe PhotoShop 7.0 ignores the “Color/Black & White” setting in Printer Preferences. German users only To print a label that includes umlaut characters, select one of these fonts: HP2 Stick font Latin - 1 HP2 Stick font Latin - 1 - Proportional Adobe Acrobat When printing from Acrobat the image may be 180 degrees out of phase for folding. Your title block, therefore, may not be in the appropriate location for folding. AutoCAD The PostScript driver doesn't support AutoCAD or Volo View; use the HDI driver, or the Xerox Wide Format HPGL/2 Windows System driver instead.
