JUNE 2017 Volunteer Recognition Was The Best Yet! Tenth East Volunteers were recognized with the ‘Party of the Year’. Fifteen local restaurants provided an assortment of food for lunch. Through Heart and Soul, the Mixed Nuts provided great music that had several on their feet dancing. Aging & Adult Services Director, Paul Leggett, Aging & Adult Services Associate Director, Jeremy Hart, Active Aging Program Manager, Sarah Brenna, and Assistant Active Aging Program Managers, Preston Hutchings and Jene Mortensen were all in attendance to show their appreciation and Paul personally addressed and thanked the volunteers on behalf of the Agency. Cheryl Walden painted a beautiful backdrop for our photo booth and volunteers hammed it up with various props. Twelve local food establishments also donated items for a raffle and treats for everyone to take home. The volunteers also received a certificate and volunteer pin. We have wonderful volunteers at Tenth East and they are most deserving of such a grand recognition. At this time we would also want to thank the following businesses for their generosity; Spaghetti Factory, Chuck-ARama, Jimmy John’s, Cheesecake Factory, Trader Joe’s, Litza’s Pizza, Papa Murphy’s, Sizzler, Little Caesar’s, Smith’s, Paradise Bakery, Sprouts, Oasis Café, The Cookie Tree, PF Changs, The Do Do, Lion House Panty, Barbacoa, Blake’s Gourmet, Chick-Fil-A, and Hire’s. When you go out to eat, think of going to one of the restaurants listed above. And if you do please make a point of thanking them for the delicious food they provided. Tenth East recognized 43 volunteers for the 7,472 hours of volunteer service they gave during 2016. Kudos! If you would like to become a Tenth East volunteer please see Brenda or Shawn. Congratulations! Bruce Miya was our ‘Health & Fitness Challenge’ winner for the month of April, logging 37 hours of health & fitness.
