Paddles Up! Materials Needed: Mini dry erase boards Dry erase markers Questions list Directions: 1. Divide the student into two teams, spacing the teams so there is distance between them. 2. Give each student a dry erase board and marker. 3. Place a chair in front of each team, turned away from the team, have each team designate one student to sit in the chair facing away from the team. 4. Tell the students you will be asking questions during the game and everyone has to write the answer on their dry erase boards. a. The students not in front of their group write their answer and turn their dry erase boards over, to hide their answers. b. The student, from each team, in front of the group, quickly write their answer and hold up their board. 5. The first student in front to lift their board with the correct answer wins their team 2 points. 6. If the student who lifted their board first has an incorrect answer the other team can win 2 points if their answer is correct. 7. If neither student has a correct answer, the student who had their board up first can ask three teammates to give them a “team paddles up.” If one of the three students has the correct answer the team is awarded one point.
