WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2006, Chionesu Bakari, is a mentoring program that

Fall Program: October - June
Program meets bi-weekly: Friday - 6:00pm - 9:00pm;
Saturday - 9:45am - 3:00pm.
Summer Program: July - August
Six week program beginning the first week in July and ending in
mid-August. Program meets daily: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Chionesu Bakari also includes a parent/guardian component to the program,
in which the values and teachings of the program are reinforced through
bi-weekly workshops and seminars and a yearly retreat. This critical component provides parents the necessary “tools” to parent their developing sons.

Due to the success of the summer program in 2006, Chionesu Bakari
was extended to year-round programming, including external advocacy for the young men in their schools and families. Categories were

With over 9 years in service, we have positively impacted and expanded the world view of over 200 young men. The program has visited over
23 states and Canada, taken over 50 college/university tours and journeyed to every major Civil Rights historical landmark.
We are transforming the lives of young men! We proudly boast, the
majority of our over 40 CB Alums are in colleges/universities introduced to them from our CB trips. As testament, our committed CB
