THANK YOU FOR A
FANTASTIC TRIKE-A-THON!

MS. LAURIE’S CORNER: What an extraordinary time we had at the Trike-A-Thon! So many families
turned out to cheer on our little riders. The air was filled with joy and graciousness. We were thrilled
to dedicate this day to our sweet friend Selara and her family!! Three cheers go to Capt. Maddie
Lattarulo for keeping us safe and to Mr. Gene for his awesome music! BUT, we could not have done it
without YOU! Our families and friends donated an awesome $5,449 to help Selara!. Our Brandon,
Riverview and SouthShore Montessori children, families and teachers are simply the best!

AROUND THE WORLD: We are learning about our own continent of North America and the earliest
inhabitants from Native American tribes to the Aztec civilization. Did you know that North America
is the 3rd largest continent, made up of 24 countries with about 502 million people? Wow!!

VETERANS DAY: Students enjoyed a Veteran’s Day celebration. We made festive flags, pinwheels and
banners to honor the men and women who serve our wonderful country!

CREATIVE “K” LESSONS: We practiced our letter “K” and many inventive lessons and stories to honor
this letter. Favorite words were kangaroo, kite, Kool-Aid and king. We learned about kinetic energy
with a fun experiment. But, our very favorite “K” word was…KINDNESS!  Keen work kiddos!

LESSONS ON GRATITUDE: Children are reflecting on and expressing their thoughts of gratitude in
various forms. We are writing letters of thanks, creating gratitude journals and even making cute
thankful turkeys with brilliant feathers. Let’s all give thanks!

LITERARY STUDIES: Children are practicing creative writing lessons through short stories and
descriptive narrations of their illustrations! Kindergarten children are embarking on a Flat Stanley
project that promises to exercise their letter writing and geography skills with family and friends.

BIRTHDAY BABES: Birthday wishes go to our friend Brady S.. Thanks for sharing your treats.

