us know, to enable us to support you and make appropriate
arrangements i.e. venue, learning support, notify the tutor.
All CAES tutors’ are required to have an enhanced DBS check and carry
ID badges. When using school premises all learners will be required to
sign in at reception and be accompanied to their room during a normal
school day. The tutor will advise learners to the safeguarding protocol
of each venue.
There are a few initial assessments which need to be completed prior
to the start of your class, for example, medical questionnaires on
fitness classes or initial assessments. Arriving 10 minutes early to do
this avoids eating up your lesson time and fulfils subsidy requirements.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
This course is an introduction to the French language and way of life
for the purpose of practical communication. It is suitable for those who
have a basic knowledge of French and wish to refresh or absolute
beginners. The class will be tailored to meet the needs of the learners
and will focus on everyday communication and other essential
language learning skills. It is taught by an experienced linguist and is
delivered in a friendly and inclusive manner to improve confidence in
speaking in the target language.
Sonja Vietoris is an experienced language teacher. She has taught
languages to adults and business people throughout Europe and has
delivered tuition to all levels of ability, from beginner through to fluent
speakers. She is interested in European culture and history and hopes
to bring elements of this into her lessons.
You will be able to communicate with speakers of French in a range of
everyday situations, have an awareness of the customs and culture of
French speaking countries and understand basic rules of grammar and
pronunciation. Topics to be covered include travel and accommodation,
leisure and hobbies, sport, lifestyles and home and family. Students
will also have the opportunity to influence what is taught to include
subjects of their own personal interest.
No, just a genuine desire to learn.
There is no formal requirement for additional hours although practice
of the techniques taught would be beneficial.
