HAPPY HOLIDAYS
The Christmas season is here, and as a school we wish all our students and their families and our CCS staff very special blessings
in our Lord Jesus Christ this holiday season. We trust each of you will enjoy the peace and love of Christmas as you reflect on
the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ. We also pray that you will have safety in all your plans during the break. We look forward
to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday, 5 January 2016 for the start of the second semester.
GOOD BYE MISS MOYER!
We must say good bye to Miss Moyer who is returning to the USA after completing her student teacher experience this semester.
Thank you for giving us of your time and energy and for the love for the students you have shown.
OUR CCS CHRISTMAS PROJECT: CHILDREN OF CASA DE AMOR
This year our School Christmas Project has been to raise money for school supplies and uniforms for the children of Hogares de
Amor, Bolivia (Casa de Amor). Each grade at CCS has “adopted” a school age child as their Christmas project and is hoping to
raise Bs 500 for their educational needs. Carachipampa will use the money to purchase needed books, pencils, cuadernos and
uniforms for each adopted child
Next week Carachipampa and the EPIC team members will present to the Hogar Casa de Amor all the supplies that will be
purchased with the money raised for this project. If you have not yet donated and would like to give a tangible gift of love to
these children, please stop by the school office and leave your donation with Mario.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM WILL BE THURSDAY 17 DECEMBER
This year our elementary students will put on a drama titled, “The First Leon.” In this charming musical, you will see the
Christmas story through the eyes of Leon. You see, Leon is... special. Ever since he discovered that his name spelled backwards is
Noel, he's felt called to tell the world the true meaning of Christmas. But when he tries out for the annual pageant, he gets
rejected. Without really trying to, however, Leon uncovers the true meaning of Christmas.
This year’s drama is both humorous and meaningful. We invite all family members and friends to come on Thursday, 17
December at 7.00pm to discover with Leon what Christmas really means. Mark this date on your calendar now and plan to come.
THE FIRST SEMESTER ENDS AND REPORTS WILL BE ISSUED ON 18 DECEMBER
The last day of school in this semester is Friday, 18 December. The Semester Reports to Parents will be distributed to students on
that Friday at noon. The start of school next semester is Tuesday, 5 January, 2016. We ask that you do not extend any vacation
into the school calendar.
PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR SCHOOL OBLIGATIONS
The following obligations must be taken care of before students receive their semester reports:
 All school debts must be paid, including tuition, comedor and transportation (bus) debts by 17 December.
 Community Service Reports must be turned in (Grades 9 –12)
 Library fines must be paid and overdue books returned.
 Sports uniforms must be returned in clean condition.
HIGH SCHOOL EXAMS 14 DECEMBER
Exam for students in the high school will be Monday 14 December. Students should review examination policies in the school
handbook before this week arrives. Here are some notices about the next week

Last day of school. All students must come in uniform at 8.15 am.
School ends at 12.00 noon.
REMINDER: ABSENCE POLICIES
We remind our parents that prior notice should be given to the school for any planned absence, including any days missed for the
last week of the semester.
SCHOOL HANDBOOK (Page 12): Families are asked not to extend their vacation plans into scheduled school days. Absences
due to extended vacations are considered unexcused. Therefore teachers are not responsible for setting a plan to make up missed
work and the students may receive zeros for work during their absences.
ARE YOU LEAVING CCS?
The school needs to know if any student is leaving CCS to go to another school in January. These students must fill out the green
“Leaving School Form” before they will be issued their semester reports.
SCHOOL OFFICES CLOSED
Please note that the school offices will be closed from 21 December to 3 January for the holidays. We will open our offices again
on Monday, 4 January 2016. Merry Christmas to all our Faculty and Staff who help keep the school running smoothly every day.
SPORTS NOTICES
There are no more sporting games this semester. We will be starting up again soon in January after the break with Boys Soccer
and Boys and Girls Basketball. We hope to field some very competitive teams, so get prepared for the action!
Students who were on sports teams this first semester must return school-issued uniforms to the school before the semester ends.
Please make sure that they are washed well and returned in good condition. Students who fail to return their uniform before the
end of the semester may not receive their semester report.
SCHOOL DRAMA IS BEING PLANNED
The school Drama Department is already planning our theatrical play for 2 nd semester. The play is “The Three Musketeers” by
Alexander Dumas. The cast has already been selected and some of the most talented actors in Cochabamba will be working with
our leaders, Miss Pinard and Mr. Urbina to make this production one of the most must-see performances of the next year. Can’t
wait!

FELICES FIESTAS DE FIN DE AÑO
¡Navidad ya está cerca! Deseamos que todos los estudiantes, sus familias y nuestros trabajadores de CCS tengan bendiciones
especiales para esta Navidad. Confiamos en que cada uno de ustedes disfrutará de la paz y del amor de la Navidad mientras
refleja sobre el regalo más grande, Jesucristo nuestro Señor. Oramos también por protección para todos sus planes durante el
descanso (diciembre 21 a enero 4) Esperamos verlos de regreso en el colegio el martes, 5 de enero del 2016 para comenzar el
segundo semestre.
DESPIDIÉNDONOS DE LA SRTA. MOYER
Debemos despedirnos de la Srta. Moyer quien, después de un semestre, vuelve a los Estados Unidos. Te agradecemos por tu
tiempo, energía y cariño hacia los estudiantes.
NUESTRO PROYECTO DE NAVIDAD: EL HOGAR CASA DE AMOR
El proyecto de navidad para este año recolectó fondos para la compra de material escolar y uniforme para los niños del Hogar
Casa de Amor. Cada curso “adoptó” un niño en edad escolar como su proyecto de navidad y esperan recaudar Bs. 500 para cubrir
los gastos de material escolar. Con el dinero recaudado, CCS comprará los libros, cuadernos, uniformes para cada niño adoptado.
La próxima semana CCS con el Equipo EPIC hará la entrega del material comprado a los niños del Hogar Casa de Amor. Si usted
aún no ha aportado para este proyecto y quisiera hacerlo, por favor contáctese con Mario en el colegio.
FIN DEL PRIMER SEMESTRE. DICIEMBRE 18: ENTREGA DE LIBRETAS
Viernes 18 de diciembre es el último día de clases. Ese mismo día se entregará las libretas escolares. Volvemos a clases el día
martes 5 de enero del 2016. Les pedimos no extender sus vacaciones y afectar el calendario escolar
PROGRAMA DE NAVIDAD 17 DE DICIEMBRE
El tema para el programa de este año es The First Leon. En esta obra musical, presenciará la historia de Navidad a través de los
ojos de Leon. Como verá Leon es especial. Desde que descubrió que su nombre escrito al revés es Noel, se sintió llamado de
comunicar al mundo el verdadero significado de la navidad. Sin embargo, es rechazado cuando trata de participar del concurso
anual navideño. Sin proponérselo, sin embargo, Leon descubre el verdadero significado de Navidad.
El drama es chistoso y significativo. Invitamos a usted y sus amigos a acompañarnos la noche del 17 de diciembre a descubrir
juntamente con Leon lo que en realidad es Navidad..
RECORDATORIO: AUSENTISMO
Recordamos a todos los padres de familia que deben enviar solicitudes de permiso con la debida anticipación.
El Manual del Colegio (página 12) establece que el calendario escolar no debe ser afectado por la extensión de vacaciones
familiares. En estos casos, la falta es considerada sin justificativo. Por lo que los profesores no tienen la obligación de
reprogramar tareas, exámenes y los estudiantes tendrán cero por los trabajos no presentados.
POR FAVOR CUMPLA CON SUS OBLIGACIONES ESCOLARES
Son las siguientes:
 Todo pago –pensiones, comedor, servicio de transporte- deben ser honradas hasta el 17 de diciembre.
 El formulario de horas de servicio comunitario (sólo los cursos 9 al 12).
 Multas de la biblioteca.
 Devolución de los uniformes deportivos.
DICIEMBRE 14: EXAMENES SEMESTRALES
Los exámenes semestrales para secundaria fueron fijados para el 14 de diciembre. Por favor revise las normas sobre exámenes.
Algunos aspectos que tomar en cuenta:
 Lunes 14: Exámenes. Una vez terminados los exámenes, los estudiantes deben volver a sus casas.
 Martes 15: Clases normales para primaria.
 Miércoles 16: Clases hasta medio día para primaria.
 Jueves 17: Medio día para primaria. Programa de Navidad comienza a horas 19:00.
o Todos los niños de pre kinder y kínder deben estar en la práctica del programa que se realizará día jueves en la
mañana.
 Viernes 18: Último día de clases. TODOS LOS ESTUDIANTES DEBEN ESTAR EN EL COLEGIO CON SU
UNIFORME RESPECTIVO A PARTIR DE LAS 8:15 HASTA MEDIO DIA.
¿CAMBIA DE COLEGIO EN ENERO?
CCS necesita ser notificado en caso de que esté cambiando de colegio en enero. Para dicho caso, los estudiantes tienen que llenar
el formulario verde.
DESCANSO EN LAS OFICINAS DEL CCS
Tome nota que las oficinas del colegio estarán cerradas desde el 21 de diciembre debido a vacación por Navidad. Volveremos a
atender el día Lunes, 4 de enero del 2016. Deseamos una feliz Navidad a todos nuestros trabajadores quienes ayudan para que el
colegio funcione eficientemente cada día.
DEPORTES
Terminamos con los encuentros deportivos por el semestre. En enero, retomaremos los entrenamientos tanto del equipo de fútbol
varones e iniciaremos los entrenamientos del equipo de basketball damas.
Los estudiantes que recibieron uniformes deportivos, por favor, devolverlos antes de la finalización de este semestre. Asegúrese
de que dicho uniforme esté limpio y en buen estado. En caso de no hacerlo, podría no recibir su libreta.
ORGANIZACIÓN DE LA OBRA TEATRAL
El Departamento de Teatro del colegio ya está planificando la obra teatral a realizarse en el segundo semestre. La obra es Los
Tres Mosqueteros de Alejandro Dumas. El elenco teatral ya ha sido elegido y algunos de los más talentosos actores de
Cochabamba apoyarán a los encargados la Srta. Pinard y el Sr. Urbina a fin de que esta obra sea imperdible.
