Complementary Information
Because of excellent seasonal conditions, national milk production in
1983/84 was 7.2 per cent up on the 1982/83 season production. Given that
normal seasonal conditions continue in 1984/85, there should be a marginal
increase on production in 1983/84.

Casein production in 1983/84 was 16 per cent above the 1982/83 Level.
Production is expected to fall in 1984/85, reflecting significant
pricing pressure in export markets and higher than desirable closing
stock for the 1983/84 season. This will result in lower exports.
