Divide: to separate into equal groups; the opposite operation of multiplication
Factor: a number that is multiplied by another number to find the product
Divisor: the number that divides the dividend in a division problem
Dividend: the number that is to be divided in a division problem
Related Facts: a set of related addition and subtraction, or multiplication and
division number sentences
Example: 4 X 7 = 28
7 X 4 = 28
28
4=7
28
7=4
Quotient: the answer to a division problem, not including the remainder
Equal Groups: groups that have the same number of objects
Inverse Operation: opposite operations, or operations that undo one another, such as addition and
subtraction or multiplication and division
