Ms Luana Ani – Year 3 Sunflowers – The 2nd Term
Our 2nd term was packed once again with fun and interesting activities. We started off with
an outing to the Home-Economics Centre in January where the girls were taught about the
importance of healthy food and most of all, learning about how to make the best choice
when it comes to having breakfast. They played various educational games, danced and
sang songs all related to Healthy Food. The parents were also given a talk about preparing
healthy food for their children. We also enjoyed eating a healthy breakfast at the HomeEconomics Centre. Finally, the children were given certificates since they all became Super
Breakfast Heroes!
During Lent, all the Year 3 classes visited various exhibitions in Rabat, as well as the Church
of St Paul, where they also had some quiet time to pray and reflect about the death of
Jesus.
All throughout Lent, the girls had time to discuss the true meaning of Lent and they each
wrote two sacrifices which they would try to do during this time as they follow Jesus.
Finally, the term ended with a wonderful experience at Prayer Spaces where the girls were
taken to the Senior School Retreat centre. There, they had various activities prepared by Ms
Natasha, together with some parent helpers. Each activity helped the children reflect upon
the meaning of Lent and it helped them have some quiet time in order to listen to Jesus.
