This center piece should not exceed 18” in any direction. Accessories may be used. 2 “Pick a Province”: Create an interpretive design inspired by a province. Name the province. An interpretive design is a design where a given theme, idea, occasion, mood, atmosphere, etc. is suggested by the selection and organization of the design elements. Accessories including water and rocks may be used. Maximum size 18” in any direction. 3 “Canadian Eh!:” In a container that suggests a Canadian theme such as Tim Horton’s mug or cup create a design that does not exceed 18” in any direction. Accessories may be used. Photographs (printed 4”x6” with category#, your name, your society on the back) 1 “Puddle”: use your imagination! 2 “My Favourite Season”: a landscape in any season 3 “First Peak at Spring”: a photo featuring a single spring flower Written Word (clearly printed on sheet of paper, category#, your name and society on the back) 1 A Limerick with the phrase “AGM in the spring” in the first line. A limerick is a humorous poem consisting of five lines. The first, second, and fifth lines must have seven to ten syllables while rhyming and having the same verbal rhythm. The third and fourth lines only have to have five to seven syllables, and have to rhyme with each other and have the same rhythm. 2 Ode to a favourite flower. An ode is a kind of poem devoted to the praise of a person, animal, or thing. An ode is usually written in an elevated style and often expresses deep feeling. Information for Societies: i. ii. iii. Each society must provide by April 1st the names of members attending and any food allergies. The cost is $25/person (non-refundable after April 1st) to be paid in a single cheque from the society to the Kemptville Horticultural Society, Box 451, Kemptville, ON K0G 1J0 A 4’X4’ table space is provided for each society to showcase what you’ve done over the past year; please bring your own extension cord if you need power.
