• Intended for railway systems (16 2/3, 50 or
60 Hz)
• Based on single voltage measurements
• Tests the line before the regular breaker
closes

The line testing function, LITE is intended
for single-phase systems where a test breaker
is installed in parallel with the regular circuit
breaker.
The line testing function is part of a test function that determines whether the line is clear
of faults before the line-breaker receives the
closing pulse. This should occur with manual
closing and breaker closing from automatic
reclosing (AR) control equipment.
In addition to the line check function, the test
equipment principally consists of the reclosing function, paralleling/energizing function,
test breaker, line breaker and measuring unit.

The function continuously measures the voltage on the line and the busbar. The input voltage signals are filtered, and a separate trip
counter prevents high overreaching or under-

• Reduces the risk of closing against fault
• Based on line voltage measurement after
closing test breaker or line and busbar voltage mesurement
• The function can be disabled by selected
external conditions
Two different operating methods can be chosen.

•
Closing of the line-breaker is permitted if
the test-breaker is connected and the line
voltage, when energized via the testbreaker, is higher then the set minimum
line voltage.
Closing of the line-breaker is permitted if
both the line and busbar voltage is higher
then the minimum voltage or if the line is
energized via the test-breaker and the line
voltage is higher than the set minimum
line voltage.
reaching of the measuring elements. A check
is made in the function's measuring and logic
circuits to see whether the established conditions to allow breaker closing are met.
