CORDOBA, SEVILLE AND
RIVER CRUISING
During your two-night stay in Seville,
you will visit the Royal Palace Alcazar,
the oldest residence of Spanish royalty
that is still in use today and a building
that amalgamates influences starting from
the Arabic period, the late Middle Ages
right through to the Renaissance, Baroque
era and nineteenth century.
The Cathedral of Seville is the third largest
in Europe and its Gothic interior houses
the tomb of Christopher Columbus –
well worth a visit in your free time. Enjoy
a full day sightseeing to Cordoba, which
contains one of the wonders of the
medieval world, the Great Mosque. Then
set sail from Seville along the Guadalquivir
River to the Atlantic Ocean.
PORTUGAL: IDYLLIC SCENERY AND
CAPTIVATING CITIES
There has been a settlement on the site
of Lisbon since Neolithic times and the
city has played a central role in European
history since Roman times. This rich past
will become evident as your tour of the city
includes Alfama – the oldest quarter, the
monumental statue of Christ the King and
the Church of Jeronimos. In Oporto, you
can visit a wine estate to sample that most
famous of fortified wines, port, or join a
tour of this charming city.
It is believed by the faithful that St James
the Apostle preached in Galicia and that,
after his death in the Holy Land, his body
was brought back here. A church was
built over his remains in the 11th century
and ever since this has been a place of
pilgrimage. Your tour of the magnificent
Cathedral includes the crypt where St
James is believed to be buried, the museum
and medieval town.

Wine-tasting in Bordeaux
THE TASTE OF FRANCE
& ENGLAND’S WEST COUNTRY
Aegean Odyssey cruises up the River
Gironde to berth in the heart of Bordeaux,
described as having the most beautiful
streets in France thanks to the magnificent
18th-century architecture. You will visit
the highlights of the city including the
Palais Rohan and the 13th-century
Cathedral of St Andrew before venturing
out of the city to one of the prestigious
wine estates for a tasting.
The West Country of England is a charming
place, steeped in history from the founding
of the Royal Navy to the D-Day landings.
From Falmouth, drive through the lush
green countryside to the world famous
Eden Project. Along the coast is Dartmouth,
home to Britannia Royal Naval College.
FROM NORMANDY TO LONDON
Honfleur offers visitors a unique heritage,
which can be best appreciated by strolling
its narrow streets. With its Grand Casino
and sumptuous hotels, Deauville is
regarded as the “Queen of Normandy
beaches.” Founded in the 11th century,
Caen was devastated in World War II and
rebuilt in the 1950s. Here you will visit
the moving museum of war and peace.
A scenic guided tour of London takes in
all the major historical and noted sites:
from the majestic Nelson’s Column and
the National Gallery to the venerable
façade of Westminster Abbey and the
fortifications of the Tower of London.
There is plenty of free time to either
continuing sightseeing or head for the
shops and the theatre.
