Frequently Asked Questions: Who should I talk to about Test Day

Frequently Asked Questions:
Who should I talk to about Test Day?
Visit https://www.prometric.com/en-us/clients/ASE/Pages/ase-testing-tech-schools.aspx before
contacting anybody. Here, you will find most of the answers to your questions. If you have a specific
question, please send an e-mail to [email protected]. You can expect an answer within 24
hours or one business day
What if I don’t have a minimum of 20 students to test?
Prometric will cancel the test day and you can look to assemble the minimum number of candidates
required for the next test day that you have scheduled.
Most of our technicians have a hectic schedule with school and work. For convenience, are we able to
test at night?
No, you may not test at night. Guidelines suggest testing take place in two sessions: 9am-noon and 1pm4pm. Along with this, we advise registering technician‘s in a staggered manner with defined time slots.
This will allow candidate check in to move with ease, and without a delay.
Are partitions (panels) necessary?
Not necessarily. Any work space closer than 3ft needs a partition. Testing workstations should be
arranged so that no other technician monitor can be seen. Cardboard panels are inexpensive and can be
purchased directly online here: http://www.classroomproducts.com/19JumboCarrel.html
What form of identification is acceptable on test day?
Acceptable forms of primary ID include:
-Driver’s license
-Military ID card
-State ID card
-Passport
-School IDs
Please note: The technician must present one form of non-expired, photo and signature-bearing ID in
order to test. For any non-photo bearing driver’s license presented, the technician must provide a
second, current form of photo ID. School IDs from a high school/trade school without a signature are
acceptable forms of secondary ID but the ID must bear a photo.
What should I expect during the proctor site visit?
Prior to test day, a Prometric proctor (or proctors) will schedule a site visit with the Campus Coordinator.
During the site visit the proctor will run a demo on the lock-down browser to assure it is installed
correctly, and to become familiar with launching the exam. You should also provide the final roster at
that time. Other fine details should be communicated such as:
-Time Sessions and Technician Count
-Bathroom locations, parking arrangements, and any security/ emergency procedures
-Location of Printer and Storage Area
-Location of exhibit booklets and scratch paper/pencils
I noticed Prometric’s IBT Web application supports Internet Explorer versions 7 to 10. Is Internet
Explorer version 11 supported as well?
Yes, IE11 is supported.
Our school is not listed in the drop down selection for “location” while running the demo (Step 11).
What is the correct location to select?
While running the demo you may not see your site location- that is normal. Use the default setting of
7325. This does not disturb testing in anyway.
What does the site do with the materials after testing?
At the end of the appointment, used exhibit booklets should be destroyed by shredding. Unused L1 & L2
exhibit booklets should be kept at site and locked up for next test event. Log-in sheets should also be
filed on site for reference when appropriate.
