Objective (What are the students’ going to accomplish): (_Students will research using textbooks,
web, and additional notes over the War of 1812 and the War’s effect on the U.S. Students will use a
‘cause and effect web’, to document the information, that will be presented in the picture video I
will show during lecture, students will also be assessed by writing a brief, two paragraph essay on
the information given in the lecture on the War of 1812.____/1 point)

Procedure: (I will start off by reviewing(direct instruction)material on the War of 1812, to refresh
students’ memory, during lecture I will play the picture video to students so they can have a visual
of events/people in the War of 1812, I will allow 15 minutes to students to write their paragraphs
and turn in at the end of the class period.____/5 points)
Assessment (How will the students’ show you that the objective has been met): (_I will give the
students 15 minutes to write a two paragraph essay on the material we covered in the lecture on the
War of 1812 and turn in, this will be worth 25 pts.____/1 point)
A Brief Description of the Entire Lesson: (_I will begin the lesson with a review over previous
material that we have covered on the War of 1812 (5/10 min).
After the review I will use direct instruction while showing the
video (20/25 min). Students will be instructed to take notes
during the lecture. The video contains pictures of the War of
1812, so students can get a visual of the war and its effects, the
picture video will enhance the students learning. After the
lecture, I will give students 15 minutes to write a two
paragraph essay on the War of 1812 and turn in as they are
leaving the classroom this is the closing of the lecture,
students may keep their ‘cause and effect’ handout for study
purposes.____/5 points)
