SANTA ROSA, CA (June 7, 2016) – Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (The Center) announced that iconic Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Buddy Guy will join fellow legendary guitarist Jeff Beck on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 8 p.m. Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy come together in Santa Rosa for a rare double-header performance for an evening with two of the most talented and influential guitarists in the world. One of the most influential guitarists in music, Jeff Beck helped shape the sounds of blues rock, psychedelia, and heavy metal, inspiring guitar players for decades with his unique style. While Beck’s groups may have been short-lived, the impact they made and his aggressive style, encompassing screaming, bent, sustained notes, distortion, feedback, and fast, crisply articulated passages, continues to influence and entice musicians and fans alike. Jeff Beck is a seven time Grammy award winner and a two time member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a Yardbird and as a solo artist. Beck was ranked fifth on the list of “100 greatest guitarists of all time” by Rolling Stone magazine. At age 79, Buddy Guy, a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled “West Side” sound, and a living link to the city’s halcyon days of electric blues.
