This half term I am learning:
• The continents and oceans
• How to understand maps using compass points, scale and grid refrences
• The countries of the UK and some of their human and physical features
• The population of the UK, how it is distributed and the type of work they do

• be able to use a basic and OS map
• Write an extended piece about the UK and its population

Discuss with the person you live with where the different generations of your family were from. For
example, were you grandparents all British or are there other elements to your heritage such as Irish,
Caribbean, Polish or Indian? Do you consider yourself to be British? What do we mean by Britishness?

my family:
Discuss with the people you live with their jobs and what they involve. Are they primary, secondary or
tertiary jobs? Are there other types of work other than paid work? What do these involve? How would
you classify them?
