Print the cards, laminate and cut out. Cards can be put in a literacy station
and students can play in different ways:
o Students match all antonym words together. Words can then be copied
onto worksheet.
o Words are turned face up. Set a timer for one minute. The winner is the
person who matches the most antonym words.
o Turn cards face down placed in a grid. Students play as in the traditional
game of Concentration, turning 2 cards over. If two antonym match is
made, the student keeps the cards and goes again. If no match can be
made, the cards are turned back over and turn goes to the next player.
Winner is the person with the most cards when all cards have been turned
over.
