THE FIRST THING THAT STRIKES YOU WHEN YOU ARRIVE ON KANGAROO ISLAND IS THE
SCALE OF THE PLACE. ONLY 15KMS FROM THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MAINLAND, THE ISLAND
IS THE THIRD LARGEST OF AUSTRALIA’S ISLANDS AT 4,500SQ KM. KI (AS THE LOCALS CALL IT)
BOASTS A BREATHTAKING DIVERSITY OF NATURAL ENVIRONMENTS FOR US TO DISCOVER.
Trek Tours Australia offer a 5 day 4 night fully accommodated guided walking holiday
to this truly unique island environment. We take you to places that few visitors to
Kangaroo Island ever experience, exploring the most remote locations on the island.
With it’s rugged coastlines, spectacular old growth native flora and of course the most
incredible native wildlife - Kangaroo Island is one of the must do walking destinations in
Australia.
Today, more than one-third of the island is declared conservation or national park
and it has five significant wilderness protection areas. The Flinders Chase National
Park where we spend the majority of our time exploring, walking and swimming is at
the western end of the island. We accommodate you in rustic cabins overlooking the
stunning Hanson Bay, serve you Kangaroo Island’s finest local produce and guide you on
some of the best walks in Australia.
Spring and autumn are the best times to visit Kangaroo Island as it enjoys mild sunny
days and cooler evenings. We look forward to seeing you over there.
