7 Steps Toward a Successful CSCPF Reciprocal Certification

7 Steps Toward a Successful
CSCPF Reciprocal Certification
1. Become a member
.
The individual seeking certification must first join CSCPF as well as a
CSCPF Practitioner Community. Go to
www.CSCPF.org

and follow the links to
Join Us!

2. Select a Certification category
.
The standards and requirements for each CSCPF
certification category are available online at the
CSCPF Community Site
. After reviewing the
applicable standards and requirements carefully, the Practitioner Community should discuss
with the candidate the match between the requested CSCPF certification category(ies) and
the candidate’s existing certification(s).
3. Certification Representative and preparing documentation
.
A Practitioner Community will
assign a certification representative to facilitate the candidate’s reciprocal certification
process. This includes guiding the candidate in collecting all necessary information and
documentation. This would include copies of existing certificates and/or evidence of current
standing in a cognate group accepted by CSCPF.
4. Reciprocal Certification Review Board
.
The Practitioner Community shall form a Reciprocal
Certification Review Board for the candidate. This Board shall consist of three CSCPF
members.
○ At least one member of the Reciprocal Certification Review Board should be
from the candidate’s Practitioner Community;
○ At least two members should be certified at the same level as is being sought by
the candidate; and
○ At least two members should be personally acquainted with the candidate for
more than six months.
The certification representative shall coordinate with all participants to schedule the
date of the Reciprocal Certification Review.
5. Certification Review
.
The Reciprocal Certification Review Board does not need to meet
physically, but must meet together at least virtually in a fashion where the candidate’s
documentation is readily at hand to all participants. At the conclusion of the Reciprocal
Certification Review, a reciprocal
Certification Review Decision Summary
form will be
completed, and then signed by all Certification Review Board members and given to the
Practitioner Community’s certification representative. The Reciprocal Certification Review
1 shall proceed according to the Standards for Reciprocal Certification. Upon reaching the
decision, the candidate shall be immediately informed and the decision shall be reported
back to the Practitioner Community.
6. Report Preparation
.
The Practitioner Community’s Certification Representative shall write a
brief report summarizing the Reciprocal Certification Review Board meeting on behalf of the
Practitioner Community. This report will be submitted in the Notice of Decision described
below.
7. Notice of Decision
.
The Practitioner Community shall submit an
online Notice of Decision
,
which will include a request to issue a certificate for positive and provisional decisions. The
online submission must include a scanned copy of the signed
Certification Review Decision
Summary
and the Community Report, either in PDF form or entered into the online form
itself. No certificate will be issued without these two items. When issued, the certificate will
be mailed to the Practitioner Community’s certification representative for final signature by
the Practitioner Community Liaison The community will present the certificate to its newly
certified member at a formal session of the Practitioner Community. In the case of
provisional certification, this should not occur until all provisions are removed.
Appeal
.
Any decision may be appealed by the candidate in writing to the entire Certification
Review Board and the Practitioner Community’s Certification Representative.
