In this season of gratitude, We keep you in our
prayers that you will receive abundant blessings
and that the children can learn and grow in
wisdom and love. We recognize that each and
every one of you is a blessing to the school. We
thank the Lord for the joy you have all brought to
Poverello.

All Saints Day – School will be closed in
observance of All Saints Day November 1st.
Make-up/Retake Pictures – If your child was
absent for picture day, or if you were unhappy
with the pictures, Life Touch will be taking
pictures on Wednesday, November 7th. Order
forms are in the school office. If you are having
retakes, please return the package with your child
and new photos will be retaken.
Veteran’s Day – We will be observing
Veterans Day on Monday, November 12th.
School will be closed.
Nursery Rhyme Day – Monday, November 19th
the children will perform Nursery Rhymes in
the Saint Francis Hall. The program will be
at 8:30 for morning students and 12:30 for
afternoon students. Parents are invited to
attend. Regular drop off and dismissal.
Progress Reports – Will be sent home on Tuesday,
November 20th in your child’s back
pack. You must be up to date with
all financial obligations to receive
your child’s progress report.

Thanksgiving – Our Thanksgiving vacation will
start Wednesday November 21st, school will
not be in session November 22nd & 23rd.
School resumes on Monday, November 26th.
School Decals – Poverello Decals are now
available in the school office for $5.00.
Jog-A-Thon – Show your team
spirit at our annual Jog-AThon Friday, November 30th
This is our 2nd Mandatory
fundraiser and each family will be responsible for
a total minimum pledge amount of $70.00.
Pledge forms are in this month’s Family
Envelope. Be sure and take advantage of the
upcoming Holidays to ask family and friends for
their pledges. Students are invited to sport their
favorite team jersey while participating in the
Jog-a-Thon. The fun all starts at 8:30 AM and
12:30 PM, students are to arrive at regular school
times. Students may come in free dress; we
encourage students to wear their favorite team’s
apparel. Please send comfortable shoes for the
children, no sandals or open toe shoes. Family
members are also invited to attend and of course
participate. Food and drinks including pupusas
will be for sale. Children may leave at the
conclusion of the activities. Please remember to
sign your child out.
Parent/Teacher Conferences – If you would like to
meet with your child’s teacher, or have a
question, please send a note through your child’s
backpack. The sisters need the time before the
morning session to prepare for class, and the time
between sessions is their time to have lunch.
Your cooperation with these times is greatly
appreciated.
Uniform & Attire – We still have students not in
complete uniform.
Michael’s Uniform is the
supplier for Poverello’s complete uniform
including shoes.
For detailed information,
regarding the school uniform and appropriate
hair length, please refer to your Parent’s
Handbook. Also, please be sure and check the
name on the inside of your child’s sweater. We
have some students that are missing their
sweaters, your help is appreciated.
School Playground Closed – The school office
closes promptly at 11:20 and 3:20 p.m. including
the playground. The school does not provide
after school supervision, for the safety of the
children we ask that everyone vacate the school
promptly at dismissal.
Please be courteous to our Traffic Controllers
and other drivers, show your child that being
courteous is important and the only acceptable
behavior.
Ice Packs – If your child has brought
home an ice pack please return it to the
school nurse.
The PTO Board for the very special luncheon they
prepared for the Sisters on St. Francis Day.
Lice Check - On November 9th the school nurse,
will be conducting a lice check for all of the
students at Poverello. Please send your child
with his/her her hair without hairspray or styling
gel. Girls should wear their hair down on the
day they will be checked.
Signature Fundraiser – A huge thank you to all of
the students and parents for making this a very
successful fundraiser. Poverello Families raised
over $9,000.00 dollars!

Library – Children have begun visiting the school
library on a weekly basis. We want to encourage
a love of reading in all the children. All students
will be allowed to check out books from the
library and take them home. Please be sure to
encourage your children to read at home, and to
return library books to the school on scheduled
Library Days. The schedule is as
follows:
Wednesdays the Kinder
Classes, Thursdays the Nursery
Classes and on Fridays the PK
Classes will visit the library.
Parking Lot – It cannot be stressed
enough that the safety of the children is
our number one priority here at
Poverello. Please make certain that you adhere
to the 5mph speed limit while in the parking lot,
also cars entering have the right of way. Your
children are watching and learning from you.
