Q:What do dentists do?
A: Dentists provide a SERVICE to people by helping them keep their gums and
teeth healthy. If your teeth are not healthy like if you had a CAVITY in your tooth
they will fill it so your tooth won’t fall out. Dentists also polish teeth which helps you
with ORAL health. Dentists help by taking out unhealthy teeth. They try to prevent
gum diseases. A Dentist will encourage patients to practice good dental care by
brushing and flossing their teeth.
Q:What do dentist use?
A: Dentistes use tools like dental floss, a mouth mirror, toothbrush, explorer, chisel
and a scraper.They use dental floss for cleaning in between teeth. A scraper and a
chisel are used to scrape plaque of your teeth. A mouth mirror helps the dentist to see
your whole mouth, like the back of your teeth better.
Q:How do you become a dentist?
It will take 4 years of college and 4 years of dental school to become a dentist. In
dental school you will learn how to do stuff that you do when you are a dentist.
Here is a fun fact--In the USA we buy 14 million gallons of toothpaste every year!
Q:How long have dentist been around?
Dentists have been around for hundreds of years.Dentist long ago did not have
tools and technology like we have today. Here is a fun fact: dentists long ago
used hippo teeth for dentures
