CloudXD Service and Support
Cheetah Support Engineers will cooperatively assist in the monitoring of your CheetahXD software remotely.
We will proactively provide guidance regarding the system performance, provisioning and sensory network
state with the end goal of providing the operator with valuable, actionable up to date information. This effort
can be accomplished by performing the following tasks in four successive steps - Installation, Configuration,
Provisioning and Sustaining Maintenance.
Installation
Initial Setup and Installation - a series of predefined
actions will take place over a controlled time frame
to ensure proper implementation of the system and
its monitored devices.
Configuration & Provisioning
Cheetah will provide initial tuning steps to help assure early discovery of devices and provide meaningful and actionable information to operators.
Sustaining Maintenance
During this cooperative effort, the customer will be responsible for data and information to support the
provisioning effort. The customer maintains ownership of the Hardware and performing any necessary
maintenance on the hardware inside their network.

Cheetah CloudXD allows for breakthrough access to a platform that typically cost $100,000. For less than
nominal per month fee, the customer gets cloud service, IP-VPN connectivity, secure virtual server, Cheetah
NOC support, simple Web services, software licensing, software support, sensor hardware support and real time
updates. Small operators, international operators, and enterprise conversions all will save $10,000’s per year
over traditional alternatives.
The above example is a real customer experience, where Cheetah quoted a small 1,000 monitoring point
system. We quoted both the enterprise software and the CloudXD with exactly the same functionality. The
Enterprise monitoring application cost $50,000 initially and $10,000 for annual license and support. The
CloudXD solution cost $1,825 monthly, or $22,000 annually. In this model, we projected the total cost of
ownership over seven years.
The aggregate savings is modeled as $38,000 in year one, break even in year 4, and the CloudXD cost $35,000 more by year
7. While this may cause a pause, consider that CloudXD includes all licenses, all support, all services and a virtual Cheetah
NOC center that runs the system for you. When considering this, it becomes a real bargain to spend $34,000 more for this
amount of support.
Regardless, the Cheetah NOC powered by Expedient also reflects our
direct cost per system. Rather than projecting a customer’s savings
in NOC services, we projected our own cost as an absolute benefit
realized or cost saved by the CATV customer. With this modest
adjustment, the total cost of ownership changes dramatically. This is
the value of CloudXD!
Powered by Expedient
The CloudXD application for each customer installation is housed
in secure virtual server locations powered by Expedient. Cheetah
employs Expedients wide range of managed services such as
virtualization, cloud computing, remote backups, management of
equipment, storage area networks, disaster recovery and more to
bring you CloudXD. Cheetah has developed a complimentary IPSec
based, IP-VPN service that connects each customer NMS (network
management system) data network to an Expedient facility via our appliance. The appliance, coupled with the Expedient
service, provides the following IPSec security functionality.
This represents a standard used by the medical industry, with compliance to their stringent HIPPA specification. While this
explains the security of the network, Expedient and Cheetah also have the server facility in a most secure location, describes
