ADAM TRAORE AND JARON CORNISH AMONG THE NATION’S BEST According to the latest NJCAA Division 1 statistics (Dec. 14), Adam Traore is first in offensive rebounds (68), second in offensive rebounds per game (6.2), third in free throws per game (7.7), third in rebounds per game (12.7), fourth in free throws (85), sixth in rebounds (140), 27th in defensive rebounds per game (6.5) and 43rd in points per game (19.5). Jaron Cornish is 20th in steals per game (2.8), 21st in steals (33), 37th in free throws (56), 40th in points (231), 45th in free throws per game (4.7) and 49th in points per game (19.3). Dec. 3 - Daytona State College 81 Broward 70 Jaron Cornish scored 23 points, but the Seahawks fell to the Falcons at Daytona Beach. Cornish connected 8 of 14 field goals, 2 of 3 three-pointers and 5 of 7 free throws. The sophomore guard also made four steals and blocked one shot. Trevon White posted 11 points, hitting 5 of 8 field goals and 1 of 3 free throws. Adam Traore contributed nine points, five rebounds and one block. Jayvian Delacruz had eight points, four assists and three steals. Oswald Parker had six rebounds and two blocks. Dec. 7 - Broward 89 Johnson & Wales University 79 (Overtime) Jaron Cornish scored 34 points, including nine in overtime, to lead the Seahawks over the Wildcats at A. Hugh Adams Central Campus. Cornish converted 12 of 22 field goals, 2 of 5 three-pointers and 8 of 10 free throws. He also contributed eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block. Trevon White posted a double-double (20 points, 15 rebounds), made one steal and blocked a shot. Jayvian Delacruz had 13 points and three assists. Oswald Parker produced eight points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Former Seahawk guard TJ Johnson scored 20 points for JWU. Dec. 10 - College of Central Florida 84 Broward 73 Jaron Cornish scored 22 points, but the Seahawks were defeated by the Patriots during the JUCO Shootout at Ocala. Cornish also contributed six rebounds and four assists. Oswald Parker produced 16 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, made three assists, had two steals and blocked one shot. Adam Traore posted a double-double (14 points, 15 rebounds) and dished-out four assists. Nicodemus Payne registered six points, seven rebounds and one block. Dec. 11 - Broward 76 Hillsborough Community College 69 Adam Traore recorded a double-double with 20 rebounds and 18 points to help the Seahawks defeat the Hawks in the JUCO Shootout at Ocala. Traore also dished-out three assists. Jaron Cornish contributed 17 points, three assists, three steals and one block. Nicodemus Payne posted a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) and blocked three shots. Oswald Parker produced 12 points, four steals and one block. Jayvian Delacruz registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
