will not form pockets on the roof to overload your house.
v Less condensation drip that can cause spotting, disease and
seedling damage. The steep roof pitch allows more condensation
to run down the poly, not drip. Special purlins can catch
condensation and carry it to the endwall.
v Humidity control is better. You have a drier house. The taller peak
allows more air volume which increases circulation and improves
crop response.
v Summer heat buildup and burn is minimized. The raised peak
keeps hot roof skins a safe distance from your plants.
v More space overhead for mounting and operation of heater, fan
jets, energy curtains and trolley systems.

The flagship of Ludy’s, the SL Series is a low maintenance, aluminum
frame that can be customized to fit your needs. Trusses are made of
structural aluminum angles and tees, and attached directly to I-beam
columns. The centerline of each member converges to a single point.

of the components are factory fabricated, ensuring consistent quality

Ludy Greenhouses SL Series
Aluminum, peaked roof SL series greenhouses provide strength,
durability and adaptability. Offering an unprecedented variety of options, the all aluminum framed SL can accommodate your needs.
The SL series nearly doubles traditional standards with a 35 pound
load rating. The strength and durability of the SL make it a great
value, but the options available give the aluminum house an ease of
design that allows you to create your own greenhouse for virtually
any application.
Your choice of width ranging from 18 feet to 50 feet and your choice
of length in 12 foot increments means that SL can fit into nearly any
plane. The standard 12 foot bays can accommodate either structured
sheets such as exolite which comes in four foot sheets or tempered
glass which is available in three foot widths. Add to these features,
the ability to gutter connect a range of houses or build as a freestanding house, and you can see the versatility that Ludy provides with the

Criteria Gutter-Connected Greenhouses
W
hat really sets the Criteria apart from other
greenhouses is something very basic: Sunlight.
The house has a remarkable amount of light transmission because there is no unnecessary structural clutter. Years of greenhouse engineering experience have
allowed X.S. Smith to offer growers maximum light
transmission without compromising strength. The even
distribution of structural support is accomplished with
appropriately sized and placed columns and bows.
G
utters are made of heavy-duty extruded aluminum to withstand the elements. They are large
and strong enough to walk in, but small enough to
minimize shadowing. The gutter is a structural member that distributes the roof load to the columns to
provide maximum strength. Each gutter has a built-in
structural web-drip gutter system to help keep condensation off your plants, as well as poly fasteners or
structured sheet adapters for rigid cover. The Criteria
is designed for expansion and does not require disassembling your existing houses.

The sun can be brutal on tender young plants. The
Sunstopper will protect your plants from scorching
and windburn while reducing water requirements and

The Sunstopper is a low-cost, multipurpose structure

Automatic or manually operated overhead doors are available in a
wide variety of sizes to meet your needs. Overhead doors can be
glazed with metal clad with or without insulation or glass.
AJ Manufacturing, commercial grade walk doors are insulated R-12, steel single or double panel door with
aluminum frame. Doors are shipped pre hung and include a 4 way universal swing with stainless steel
hinges. Doors include Schlage entry lockset, latch guard kit, aluminum header and sill and Taco series 70
aluminum door closure. Series 3100 doors have a 28 ga. white embossed steel panel and white aluminum
frame. The Series 5100 doors have a 24-ga smooth steel panel with a white factory finish and a white 16-ga
aluminum jamb. Vue Lite insulated windows are 22” x 22”. In additional to the Vue Lite window option,
doors are available with a solid panel or a full view panel. Sizes range from 2’0” to 4’0” wide and 6’8” and

panel utilizing advance polymer technology that scatters the light

Silglaze II Sealants are an excellent silicone
sealant used for caulking polycarbonate
panels such as Lexan when used in aluminum glazing systems. It can accommodate
50% movement which is essential for polycarbonate panels. Stock colors are Clear
SCS2801 and Aluminum SCS2809. Special
ordered colors, in full case only, are; White,

Renovation of greenhouse structures has demanded the invention of
glazing systems to more effectively reduce energy consumption and
maintenance costs for greater profitability.
Ludy glazing systems improve value, upgrade appearance and
will lower operating costs. The Ludy-Lite and Wood-Lite systems
include specially designed aluminum extrusion for rafter bars, top
and bottom closures, gable end rafters and vents. Typically, bar caps
and glass are removed from the existing house and the rafters are
cleaned of putty and caulking. Ludy-Lite adapters are fitted to the
rafter and glazing material is laid in place. The top of the rafter is
sealed with a Ludy-Lite bar cap.
For example, replace your current glazing with non-toxic UV-stable
acrylic. With “no yellowing” 30 year guarantee, this eco-friendly
glazing product will save you money for years to come. Acrylic
structured sheet offers superior energy savings, proven hail
protection, condensate control and the highest, most even light
transmission available. The acrylic product is made without using
harmful chemicals and can be recycled for use in making other
consumer goods.
Or choose polycarbonate that offers a 99% UV block. It’s impact
resistant and offers a 10 year warranty for condensation control. In

GT-IR/A triple layer films have been engineered to provide excellent
clarity and light transmission. The triple layer technology combines
different additives in separate layers to derive maximum benefit and
ensure long product life. GT-IR/A contains an additive that delays the
exit of infrared waves from the greenhouse thereby maintaining a
warmer environment and saving energy. Excellent for use in colder
climates, GT-IR/AC promotes earlier, more rapid plant growth.

This is a non-woven, polyester
tape that protects and extends
the life of your greenhouse
covering. Apply to greenhouse
frame any place where poly film
contacts, and breakdown at the
frame is virtually eliminated. Remove paper
backing and apply directly to metal, painted
surfaces, wood and plastic surfaces, pressing
evenly to assure good contact with pressuresensitive adhesive. Rust, dirt, flaking paint and
oil should be removed before application. Will
last for years. Roll is 40’ long and 11⁄2” wide.
Multiply number of trusses or bows by film
width to get total linear feet and divide by 40’ roll

WIGGLE WIRE POLY FASTENER INSTALLATION
Wiggle Wire is capable of holding
two layers of polyethylene, plus a
piece of shade cloth. You simply lock
the polyethylene with one wire, then
go back and install a second wire to
hold the shade cloth in place. The
wires must be installed with the
patterns reversed. See Figure 1.

Automatic Ventilation
The Sesam Liberty and Univent automatically adjusts ventilation
according to the temperature inside your greenhouse.
SESAM LIBERTY
The Sesam Liberty automatically opens and closes your greenhouse
louver windows according to changes in temperature. The unit can be
adjusted to start opening at a temperature range from 60.8ВєF to 77ВєF.
The Sesam Liberty fits most common louver windows.
UNIVENT
The Univent provides automatic ventilation for your garden cold frame
or roof vent of your hobby greenhouse. The Univent has an extra strong
lock and backstop springs and can be applied to top hung windows in
vertical walls. Maximum window opening is 18”. Maximum opening is at
86ВєF depending upon adjustment and load. The Univent is designed to
open and close greenhouse vents or cold frames weighing up to 15 lbs.
• The Sesam Liberty and Univent do not require electric and needs no
wiring; they operate by means of solar energy.
• Units are made from rustproof materials lasting for many years.
The Sesam Liberty and Univent have a one year limited warranty.
• For winter storage, it is recommended that the Sesam Liberty and

Woven Reinforced High Density Polyethylene

MAIWEAVE T-4000 is a high grade polyethylene sheeting designed to withstand excessive
mechanical or non-mechanical loading. It is more resistant to high winds, snow loading, etc.
than other polyethylene coverings. Light transmission of the clear, is somewhat lower than
single sheet poly. Please write or call for a sample.
MAIWEAVE T-4000
STRONG – The secret of MAIWEAVE T-4000 incredible strength
and unusually long life is its unique, three-ply design. The center ply
is a tight basket weave of high density polyethylene strands woven in
an 8 x 10 pattern per square inch. The fabric is then coated with low
density polyethylene film on both sides for a completely water and
weather-tight cover. This design makes the sheeting stronger than any
other horticultural polyethylene covering. A pen inserted through a
sample piece of MAIWEAVE, would take in excess of 100 lbs. of pull
to tear the fabric.
LONG LIFE -
All polyethylene used in the fabrication of
MAIWEAVE T-4000 is treated with Ultra-Violet (UV) inhibitors,
enabling the material to have an estimated life span of 3-5 years.

Vent & curtain drive system
STRONG, COMPACT, RELIABLE are Lock products. Lock Drives are known
globally as the finest, when it comes to accuracy with precise opening and
closing positions due to its limit switch system. These limits feature Swiss
made micro switches that are set by tightening three Allen head screws in
each direction. Once they are set they will continue to run for many years
without any attention. The EWA 12, 14 and 16 units have safety limits.
There is an extra micro switch in each direction that will cut off the power
to the motor if the system is forced past the stopping point.
The motors are operated by the Micro Grow Series 100 or Series 200 vent
controls. The Series 100 and 200 provide on/off or automatic operation.
The on/off setting provides manual operation. For automatic operation
they require a 24 volt signal from a Micro Grow environmental controller
or virtually any greenhouse environmental control system.
The Series 100 and 200 feature two contactors, hookups for the limit
switches and a thermal overload protection switch. A transformer is
optional. All Micro Grow products are built to UL specifications and listing.

Truss-to-Truss
Describes the movement of a curtain as it opens and closes from truss
to truss. A complete greenhouse range can be opened or closed in
10 minutes for quick reaction to internal or external demands.
Push-Pull
Describes the drive mechanics of the system. It is a high strength,
low friction, rigid system requiring little maintenance. The curtain is
pushed and pulled to open and close. Continuous 1” pipes run from
end to end of the greenhouse connecting the entire system together.

Three options for installation:
retractable shade (an Abri system): This shade
uExterior
system goes high above the structure and won’t interfere
with vents. The fabric (such as the Svensson F series) is
designed to “breath” and exhaust air between the shading
and aluminized reflective components. It is highly efficient
since the cloth reflects radiation before it enters the
greenhouse; the additional structure which withstands wind
loading makes this the most expensive option.

nterior retractable shade: This system, primarily used with

natural ventilation, allows for even shading so plants dry out
evenly. The greenhouse is ventilated through the shade.

ENERGY SAVING & SOLAR REFLECTION
XLS FIREBREAK is the industry standard for both energy and shade
for commercial greenhouses. While not flame retardant, each panel
has tow, integrated Firebreak sections intended to limit panel spread
effectively reducing risk of catastrophic fire loss. Also available in the
open �F’ versions and Obscura, the blackout screen.
XLS REVOLUX is the patented, industry standard flame retardant
material for both energy and shade for greenhouses subject to fire codes
like schools, institutions and retail locations. According to standard tests,
Revolux means flame retardant and is also available in the open �F’
versions and Obscura, the blackout screen.
XLS HARMONY REVOLUX: Harmony means light diffusion. Most
plants benefit from an even spreading of light which helps avoid hot
spots and increases light penetration deeper into the plant canopy.
Harmony utilizes white film strips rather than aluminum foils. While not
as energy efficient as aluminum, the cooling effect is better and the light
passing through the films is completely diffused and widely spread. Also
available in the �F’ versions.
LS environmental screens
BLACKOUT/OBSCURA
XLS OBSCURA FIREBREAK and XLS OBSCURA REVOLUX consist of a
two layer blackout cloth for creating short days while saving tremendous
amounts of energy. The upper layer is all aluminum for unparalleled heat
retention and reflectivity to keep cool when pulled during daylight hours.
The under layer blocks light leaks from the upper layer and is available in
B/B, black on both sides and B/W, which is white on the underside. Use
the B/W when using the Obscura as an energy curtain and illuminating
with lamps for better light distribution and efficiency. REVOLUX is the
flame retardant version.
SOLAR REFLECTION
XLS F FIREBREAK, F HARMONY and F REVOLUX are created for
shading and cooling are open in construction between the shading
strips. The F FIREBREAK and F REVOLUX use aluminum to create
shading. The XLS F HARMONY uses the white film strips that create a
better cooling effect and diffuse light in a flame retardant product. Due
to these benefits, the F HARMONY is the product to use for shade levels
up to 52%. Above that shade level aluminum is required to provide the
shading while maintaining the open nature of the screen.
OUTDOOR SHADING & WEATHER PROTECTION
FLS is an outside screen that protects the crop and controls the climate.
During the day the screen’s open structure provides solar reflection and
cooling - reducing both greenhouse temperature and plant temperature.
At night it helps reduce radiated heat loss from the plants. Its structure
stimulates aluminium and doesn’t allow light transmission through the
film, making it possible to have a reflective, open shade. FLS can be
used for rolling, sliding or fixed screen installations.
LS SOLARWOVEN is a double-laminated, triple layer, woven polyfilm
product with an anticondensate layer on one side. SOLARWOVEN has
all the advantages of a greenhouse film but with a superior strength and
life expectancy. It can also be used as a rolling sidewall or as a rectractable
roof where cables, fabric keys and hems can be added to finish.

G reenhouse ALUMINET SHADE CLOTHS
ALUMINETВ® is a special knitted screen made from High Density
Polyethylene strips laminated with aluminum that has been specially
treated to prevent oxidation. It is available in different shading levels.
Due to the unique knitted structure of the screen, it does not unravel
with wear. It can be cut and sewn at any angle with no fraying or
damage to cloth, under normal use.
Due to the superior reflectability and light weight of ALUMINET,
it is the perfect cloth to cover the outside of a greenhouse instead
of standard black shade cloth. In addition to providing all of the
benefits of standard shade cloth, it does not absorb the heat. Its dual
functions shade and cool the greenhouse. Much lighter in weight
than standard shade cloth, ALUMINET is easy and quick to install.

Pak Knit Shade Fabric yarn is made of U.V. resistant, high
density polyethylene. The polyethylene gives the fabric
strength and flexibility and the knitted design ensures
against ripping, tearing and fraying. The fabrics can be
cleaned with a mixture of mild soap and pressurized water.

1. Any time an order is placed needing a different width than multiples of standard
widths, the price per panel will be calculated based on the standard widths used
to fabricate the needed panel width. Example: a panel 17’ x 100’, 47% shade
would require the fabrication of 6’ & 12’ standard panels or 1,800 sq. ft. usage100 sq. ft. would be off fall (wasted).
2. Always allow ±1” differential between panel width ordered and the fabricated
panel width. For length, allow В±1% (normally on the + side).
3. Allow 2” seam loss when figuring width, when 2 panels are sewn together.

4. To calculate the amount of grommets needed per panel, add total linear feet of
taped edges, which are required for grommet fabrication, divide by spacing of
grommets, add 4 more for total needed. Two grommets installed on each corner.
5. It is suggested fabric requiring slitting be hemmed or taped on edges to prevent
unraveling.
6. For greater longevity of fabricated fabrics, all PAK products are sewn with
monofilament thread and spread grommets.
7. As lead times can vary greatly, please order in advance of need.

DeWitt knitted shade fabric
Reinforcing Tape – Custom sewn around the perimeter of the
panel with 2-3/4” polypropylene tape folded over edges and
double stitched 3/4”. This prevents unraveling and must be
ordered for grommet installation.
Grommets – No. 5 grommets (5/8” hole), spaced to your
specifications. 6” multiples (min.)
Hem Edges – This process involves folding in 2” of the raw
edge and then sewn to prevent unraveling. Price per linear
foot of edge. Hemmed edges cannot be used with grommets.
This should only be used if suspended on wires indoors or a

that is resistant to rot and mildew to give
