BARNEY HARRISON PRESLEY LINE
LINE OF THOMAS PRESLEY, JR.
Barney Harrison Presley was born in Chester County, South Carolina 27
February 1808 and died 27 February 1880 in Leake County, Mississippi. His body
was interred after February 1880 in Wallace Cemetery in Leake County,
Mississippi.
He married twice. Barney's first wife was Malinda Morgan. They married
ca. 1831. Malinda was born about 1812 in South Carolina. Malinda was the
daughter of Turner Morgan and Elizabeth Ferguson. Malinda died 26 February
1850 in Carthage, Leake County, Mississippi.
He married Mahulda Harper 18 January 1856. A NOTE: Malinda Morgan:
her great-grandfather was Samuel Ferguson who served in the American Revolutionary
War. For those interested parties, information and documentation in the DAR is already
submitted under this ancestor's name. (The Morgan family, the Brown family, and the
Lee family go down to Itawamba and Lee Counties in MS and are found in
intermarriages with the direct Presley line there.)
Barney Harrison Presley and Malinda Morgan had the following
children:
Elisha William Presley was born in Chester County, South Carolina about
15 Oct. 1832. He married Elizabeth and moved to Lamar County, Texas where he
died 7 Dec. 1901 and is buried in Old Deport Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas.
Elisha served with the 10th VOLUNTEER INFANTRY REGIMENT COMPANY A
FROM MUSCOGEE COUNTY GEORGIA (information from descendants, Debbie
Lloyd and Bobby Presley.)
Thomas Turner Presley was born in Chester County, South Carolina about
1833 and died 11 August 1864 in a Union Prison in Alton, Madison County,
Illinois. He married Elizabeth S. Jones. Betty was born 1834 in North Carolina
and died 12 September 1923 in Santa Anna, Coleman County, Texas.
James Alexander Presley was born in Chester County, South Carolina about
1835. He married Sarah Ann James 9 April 1860 in., Bradley County, Arkansas.
Mary Jane Presley was born in Chester County, South Carolina 12 May 1836.
Mary died 19 August 1923 in Covington County, Mississippi. She married twice.
She married George W. Joiner. She married Madison Gasmore Hughes 10
February 1858 in Leake County, Mississippi. Madison was born 5 June 1832 in
Lowndes County, Alabama. Madison was the son of David Hughes and Leah
Morrow. Madison died 24 November 1880 in Leake County, Mississippi.
Sarah Elizabeth Presley was born in Chester County, South Carolina about
1837. Sarah died 17 December 1922. She married George W. Joiner 28 February
1856 in Leake County, Mississippi.

Elias Harris Presley was born in Chester County, South Carolina 21
October 1839 and died 11 January 1925 in Carthage, Leake County,
Mississippi. He married Harriet Virginia Jones 28 September 1865 in
Leake County, Mississippi. Harriet was born 25 August 1842 in Mississippi.
Harriet was the daughter of David W. Jones and Martha Dixon. Harriet died 23
February 1912 in Leake County, Mississippi.
John Madison Presley was born in Chester County, South Carolina
about 1842.
Andrew Jenkins Presley was born in Chester County, South Carolina 5
April 1845 and died 12 August 1938 in Ludlow, Scott County, Mississippi. He
married Martha McCollum 10 November 1867 in Leake County, Mississippi.
Martha was born 28 March 1853 in Mississippi. Martha died 30 March 1914 in
Ludlow, Scott County, Mississippi.
Rausel Crisenberry Presley was born in Henderson County, Tennessee 21
February 1847 and died 28 July 1937 Confederate Home in Biloxi, Harrison
County, Mississippi. He married Catherine Elizabeth Ivy 26 December 1875 in
Leake County, Mississippi. Catherine was born 20 September 1855 in Hopoca
Community, Leake County, Mississippi. Catherine was the daughter of Mathew
Ivy and Mary Jane Hamilton. Catherine died 1 January 1942 Confederate Home
in Biloxi, Harrison County, Mississippi.
Hosea Morgan Presley was born in Henderson County, Tennessee 21
February 1849 and died 11 October 1888 in Yowell, Delta County, Texas. He
married Catherine A. Hill 15 November 1873 in Leake County, Mississippi.
Catherine was born 16 November 1854 in Leake County, Mississippi. Hosea
lived for a time in Itawamba County, MS. Catherine died 2 January 1920 in
Yowell, Delta County, Texas.
Malinda Asaneth Anna Presley was born in Henderson County, Tennessee
1850. Fannie died 8 August 1928 in Leake County, Mississippi. She married
Elisha Harrell Sr. 17 December 1867 in Leake County, Mississippi. Elisha was
born 1840. Elisha died 29 April 1926 in Leake County, Mississippi.
